    Who would like a chat?

The last chat we had here at ToeQuest was on the universe expansion theme around three months ago which was a great success. Recently, Robert hinted at the idea of an informal weekly or fortnightly chat (depending upon the demand), so this thread is intended to gauge the demand of the members.

The chat could take one of various formats: it could be a completely open, general chat, in which we can talk about anything, or we could set a broad theme to talk about. If anyone else has other ideas, then please let me know. The time and day could also change for each session, to try and accommodate for different time zones. I'll run a poll for times and days later, after the results of this one are in.

So, please vote for the option that best describes your opinions. If anyone has any questions or ideas, please post them here, or feel free to PM me. Also, if anyone has an idea for a broad topic they would like to chat about, then please let me know.

Re: Who would like a chat?

Thanks for the comments, Michael. I agree, the chatroom is enjoyable and we should try and utilise it more. What does anyone else think? Note that a vote for "no" is encouraged also: at least it tells us that you have reached the thread and have viewed it!!

Re: Who would like a chat?

    Hello all:
I would like to chat about the open issue that I point to in the thread. Time is the 4th dimension - what are the true implications of this. This topic is well defined in that thread. This is an open physical question that is in need of attention. I will be glad to chat about my thoughts on this issue. I think a poll would be in order first. I am hoping that a suitable alternative view on both sides of this issue will manifest. This is the TOE quest, lets take the tiger by the tail. After we do this I think a publication might get Robert and toe-quest a bit of attention. I would be glad to help in this area also. Pick up the torch I hand you.

Re: Who would like a chat?

I do enjoy a good chat. Do we have the option to run more than one chat at the same time?

Also, if you run a chat on one subject is it fairly easy to go back and read the entire conversation? I would selfishly love to chat about my idea that I have posted under Your Toe Theory, titled:

Tiny Bits - Momentum In Cosmic Geometry

(Just to get some feed back and to get everyone to read it and consider if there is a logic to it, that I can see, to a way in which simple small momenta work collectively to create Gravity, electrons, protons, neutrons, and by steps, all of the elements and their probability for "decay.")

Ok, good. Well, I've not even thought about a specific topic yet, since the idea of this was to gauge general thoughts on the topic of a chat. If we get enough people involved, then I'll open a poll on possible topics. Also, please vote for your favorite option on the poll, in order to help with numbers.

I guess that would be possible, but I don't think we should look into two different chats at once. I think it best to use one chatroom per fortnight, then we can get more of a focused chat, rather than spread the people over more than one topic.
Also, if you run a chat on one subject is it fairly easy to go back and read the entire conversation?
Yes, you can scroll back up the chat to read it. There is also an option to save a transcript from the chat: I'm not sure if only Robert can do that, though, so I'll take a look into it later.

Ok, well, as I said above, I've not thought about the topics yet. We can decide the topic for the first chat, later.

Re: Who would like a chat?

Thanks for your input, Pat. A fortnight means "two weeks," so basically we'll be trying for a chat every week, or every two weeks. Sorry, the term might be British, and not recognised around the world!

Good idea Neutralino. However my issue is that I get the chat notifications after the chat day and time has passed. Can you please help??
