SB_UK

Dear Ms,

I have no idea what your posts mean, other than it may be a classic example in what Robert is referring to at the start of this thread. Additionally, it is also a good example of the personification of chaos theory.

Best to you,

Pat

P.S. Please make your posts more lucid so a potato brain like yours truly is able to understand. Thank you.

HMMM!!

Not quite lucid enough SB. May I suggest you go to the Chatroom and have a conversation with Carly, who I believe may be your intellectual equal.

Very best to you,

Pat

I'm Simple
She's Carly

you'll see the classically reiterating Romulus/Creamousse thing ragin' here

no???

through honest ignorance
- I insulted her
vowed never to talk to me again she did
'won't be coming around again !'

She bathed me in a global 5 post exclusion perimeter
- I confounded them all though by posting 5 posts of between 5 and 10 characters long using only ...dots... in the background colour of each chameleon -

annoyed the mods -
lifted the curse by editing my posts together -
it was worth the loss in my post number count

- clawed my way up to become
Ultra Uber Super Administrator (colour NAVirilitY BLUE)

- and here *I* am back here again ready to do battle.

Though this time I have a trick from bootcamp stint

chez Mary's
where
'you Seymour Butts than anywhere else? bub!'
as generic greeting to strangers not from these parts

chez Mary's I gained the power of 'Ignore' - to accompany my now implacably instated ignorance.

She knew nothing stays the same
She was too sure
- I dabbled - I learnt - I came to see that she had unearthed potential energy, alchemy and an underground dump of o+bottomies.

I knew nothing.
She knew something.
Turned out that her something was my nothing was her nothing.

- I recall the ignorant and heavy petulant youth 'Simple' stating to Carly -

I had thought that I'd learnt all that there was to know -
turned out that it was just the Index page and I had skimmed -

Mel smelled fine.

Carly needed me to reign supreme

Mel smelled mighty fine.

Quote:

I cheated
Carly suggested it best that I leave or 'I be not coming again through actual incapacity'
With hands in place - I suggested that 'she not be coming around again'

We both stood our ground - repeating these basic lines over and over -
later that night we agreed on compromise -

she
leaves (and never returns)
whilst
I accept 'solitary' within exclusion bubble.

... ... well it seems from your post that we have both thrown off the shackles of that seminal moment in fluidics with Mel the Smell from Hell.

How Carly bypassed her router I'll never know

- hired help-lines at $10/s ???

Like all women Carly thought that a computer was just something you switch on
and then
switch off
at night.

so - when all's said and done

ENOUGH!

where is she then?

beta-CCM is another brain chemical associated with stress as well as learning. And the the amygdala, associated with anger (fight or flight), is a brain structure at the end of the hippocampus, associated with memory and learning. All of this is consistent with consciousness and learning being a defense mechanism tied to the sympathetic nervous system (as opposed to the homeostatic parasympathetic nervous system).

Strangely, all of this was foretold ages ago ...

Profpat;
It would appear that SB_UK wants us to play her ADD game. I think it’s time to pull this weed!

the bifurcqin shape says it all
The amino acid, tyrosine, is the original precursor in the chain: tyrosine, L-dopa, dopmine, noradrenaline, and epinephrine. All appear important to "fight or flight" behaviors, the sympathetic nervous system, and consciousness.

Regarding cytokines, prevalent in your JAK-STAT link, they appear related to the brain's ability to modulate the immune system:
"... Cytokines are generally known as chemical messengers between immune cells. As such, they play a crucial role in mediating inflammatory and immune responses. The discovery a decade or two ago that cytokines signal the brain and serve as mediators between immune and nerve cells is far-reaching in its implications. The brain is now seen as capable of influencing immune processes. ..." http://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/...full/157/5/683

The failure of the immune system appears symptomatic of death in rats suffering from sleep deprivation (Allan Rechtschaffen):
"... All rats chronically deprived of sleep by an automated apparatus died after about 2-3 weeks; REM-deprived rats survived about twice as long. ..."
http://www.npi.ucla.edu/sleepresearc...eep_dreams.htm

Homeostasis appears to be part of the parasympathetic nervous system which is more closely associated with tryptophan, serotonin, and melatonin as well as immuno-function and sleep.

SB_UK, sell me on the usefulness of JAK-STAT. Where does it fit into the scheme of things? What part of the brain, mind, and/or emotion does it participate?

Thanks!
