I'll be making a number of website updates this week. I'm practicing today to make sure things will go smoothly when I update the live site. I'll close the forums part of the day tomorrow and maybe off and on for the rest of the week. By Friday, most of my work will be done, and we can look forward to a new look, new toys, and a better quest for all. I'll make announcements in this thread as I bring new features on line.

I've updated the link manager to the latest software revision and added some category icons and link previews. You guys should really hang out there more! You can post your favorite website links, comment on existing links, rate the links, add a link to your favorites list, subscribe to a link, receive an RSS feed, and much more. This can be a great resource for your research. Plus, your links and comments are added to your total post count. There's a lot more you can do there but you need to go play with it to appreciate it more.

In preparation for an upgrade to the latest vBulletin software I'm removing several forum features so please don't be alarmed cause I'll add them back and they'll be bigger and better than before! Also, not sure if I'll be shutting the forum down today or not, but it may slow down on occasion as I do stuff in the background. Again, no need to be alarmed. These are simply growing pains.

I hit a major problem over the last two days but I overcame it today; however, it has put me behind schedule . I was so upset that I went to the Many-Worlds Pub and started drinking!

Going forward, I'll make another practice run tonight and, if that goes well, I'll shut down the forum tomorrow evening for the big upgrade. I'm switching to a new blog vendor, since the previous one is out of business, and I'll be importing all of your blog data to the new system.

If things go horribly wrong again you can find me in the pub

It's now Saturday and the website looks pretty much the same as it did a week ago. Unfortunately, things did go horribly wrong at the last minute and I considered the major updates too risky until I work out some issues. I was close though. I was that close. *** Robert holds his hand up with index and thumb about an inch apart *** It would have looked awesome. really! Oh well. I've gotta regroup now and decide what to do next. Sorry to build up your expectations only to disappoint you.
