Finished another upgrade

I just upgraded the forum software from version 4.0.0 to 4.0.1. What I estimated to be 20 minutes took more like two hours . Sorry about that. I ran head first into a major glitch with PHP 5.3.1 that I recently upgraded to, so I had to downgrade to 5.2.12. That also fixed some problems with the Image Gallery that I'll be bringing back on line very soon now. It hurts to be on the cutting edge sometimes. There are more upgrades coming so there could be more problems too, but I'll get them all fixed. My plan is to be done with most of the upgrades by the end of the month.

Anyway, this last upgrade fixed over 200 bugs. For example, when you make a post, the smiley faces on the right look a lot better and there's a 'More' link for more smiley faces. Does anyone else notice any improvements?

Hi Robert...possibly you could give SB and myself some advice...

We are two posters now having difficulty in how we view the posts on the forum. If a poster brings a quote with their post, the quote turns into a long, line of single letters down the left side of page. Where the posters thoughts begin this organization of single letters then breaks into a short, 2 worded sentence all the way down the page and making for taking up alot of space.

This is just new as of last night....could you advise please???

It sounds like it could be related to the recent upgrade I did. A couple of questions: 1) What browser are you using? 2) What button do you click on to bring a quote with your post? Is it the 'Reply With Quote' button? 3) Does the problem clear up if you refresh the page or widen your browser?

Hi Robert, I am using Windows 7 and coincidentally just waiting for my brother-in-law to come in and update that. If I post with a quote I click reply with quote. I tried refreshing the page but did not work. I am having no problems with my browser anywhere else, just the TOE so wondering if it could be just me needing that upgrade. I do not know what SBs situation is, I only know he told me he is having the same viewing problem...

This is a bug that affects all v4.0.1 releases of vBulletin and should be fixed in the next update later this month. It seems to affect the first and last post of the page. Increasing the width of your browser should at least make it readable.

Yes, I just got it fixed. I was able to get an early release of a fix that's scheduled for v4.0.2 release. All should be good now

Ok Robert....checked some threads and all fixed...thank you ever so much, it was difficult cause I felt like I was trapped in tunnel vision...lol...what can I tell you...excellent work...
