Spam Registration
-----------------
If you noticed a lot of users being banned recently it's due to a big surge of spam registration. The spammers have been able to bypass the image verification implemented at ToeQuest and many other forum-based websites. I've implemented a new image verification scheme and the spammers are no longer bothering us, at least for the moment.

ToeQuest Guilds
---------------
The ToeQuest Guilds are off to a good start with dleviwing heading up the "T. Q. Physics Alliance". An introduction by dleviwing can be read at http://www.toequest.com/forum/t-q-ph...nce-intro.html. ToeQuest will be kicking off a second Guild this coming week that will be headed by mkirkpatrick. We should have a name decided soon and the forum will be configured within a week. mkirkpatrick as graciously agreed to take up forum moderation of the Spirituality and Psychology forums.

Chat Session
------------
We had a chat session last Saturday with three attendees: baudrunner, dleviwing, and myself. The next chat session will probably be soon after the beginning of next year. I hope to make some modifications to the chat room to use socket server technology. That should place much less stress on the server with much faster responses.

TOE Glossary
------------
I've installed a new Glossary at, http://www.toequest.com/forum/glossary.php, but I don't think anyone knows about it yet. I'll make an announcement shortly. The glossary that can be edited and expanded by all community members. So, if you don't like a definition, you can edit and make it better. If you use words not known to the general layman, you can add a definition to the glossary. All words in the glossary will be marked within the posts, so by clicking the word, you will see the definition. I've entered a very poor definition of a black hole and I'm waiting for someone to improve it. You can reach the glossary on the lower navigation bar, MISC->Glossary.

Link Manager
------------
I've upgraded the Link Manager at http://www.toequest.com/links/, and posted the announcement at http://www.toequest.com/forum/news-a...n-updated.html. Come check it out and add you favorite science link.
