Welcome to the ToeQuest Newsletter! First, I'd like to apologize for the delay in sending out this newsletter. As you may know I have a day job as a Software Engineer and occasionally I am required to put in some overtime to get projects completed by a deadline. Unfortunately, since mid-January I have been working non-stop, late evenings and weekends, to complete a project. With things winding down I was able to take my first day off last Saturday and expect to be back on my normal schedule soon. ToeQuest is still around so, if you haven't visited recently, please drop by soon.
During this period of high stress and over-work, I did manage to add a new favicon to the website. Don't know what a favicon is? Just look at the small blue image with a black T and white Q on your browser tab, address field, and/or ToeQuest bookmark.
Looking to the Future --------------------- I am planning to take a week off from my day job in the near future to work on the website full time. Below are some improvements I'm planning.
1. Upgrade to latest software revision: chat room, member articles, forum software, member blogs, image gallery, support area and other major areas not listed.
2. Major upgrade to the Research Library. I may move this to it's own website.
3. Major upgrade to the 'Science News' area on the home page with added vBulletin integration so all members can post news. Toe Club members will get early access.
4. Re-introduce the 'Study Hall' feature. A book is chosen and read as a group with book topics discussed in a dedicated forum. A quiz will be given at the end of the study period with awards given.
5. Add LaTeX support again.
6. New menus.
7. This is a longer term feature, but I'm developing a new means of presenting member's theories to the community and larger Internet that should give better focus to the theories and invite more discussion. I'm doing all the development on this one and I'll give my Toe Club Members early access.
All members are encouraged to join the Toe Club. You can read more information at http://www.toequest.com/support/index.php?action=kb&article=1.
That's all this time. I'll plan on sending out the next newsletter in two weeks, and keep to an every-other-Monday schedule. If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments, please don't hesitate to send me a PM or some email at robert @ toequest.com.
