What is a Study Hall?

The Study Hall is a place in high school where I used to go every day, for about an hour, to finish my school assignments, study for upcoming tests, or just put my head on my desk and sleep if I didn't have anything else to do. The term "Study Hall" may not be universally understood as a place to study, so I may change the name in the future. "Where on the web is it?" you ask? Only at ToeQuest!

I just went to www.dictionary.com and entered "study hall" and received the following three definitions:
  1. A schoolroom reserved for study.
  2. A period set aside for study.
  3. A period of time during the school day that is set aside for study.
Do you have such a place at your school in Spain that serves this purpose?

Regards,
--Robert

From the definitions and info you give me I guess that what you call study hall we call the library. It's completely similar, although we are not "supposed" to do our homework at school especially because it's home-work, most people (me sometimes) do homework in the library, and although teachers know that, they do nothing. I guess it happens everywhere since the begining.

Signing up! It's amazing that I just found this site, because I'm in the middle of reading this very book.
