astral travel, the only way to go.

I have had many experiences of leaving my body,so planned,as in meditation.
and the unplanned ones, when settling down to sleep, these are the most
scary, for often I am looking down from the ceiling at my body lying on the
    bed,thinking,how the hell do I get back inside,and if I fail,will I be dead?

I have talked to many others over the past40 years, who have all had
similar experiences.I was once involved with the pychic institute,in London,
who used to conduct experiments,in astral projections, they gathered much
    data over the years,
there is another interesting thing called Remote viewing,a chap called
Ingo-Swan,who has wrote several books on this, who was once employed
by theC.I.A. to remote view rather sensitive areas of the world.there is a
very strong connection between remote viewing, and astral projection.
Seems odd to me that the C>I.A.would invest millions of bucks,on something
that many people do not believe in.regard michael.

    Michael,
I have also had several similar experiences...although they have NEVER been planned at all. However, they have all occoured when I'm in bed. I can never remember leaving my body but I can always remember flying around my room or outside of my house, the feeling is very strange indeed. Like you, I can remember feeling worried as to how I'm going to get back into my body - or if I've died and this is what happens.

On one occasion I can distinctly tell I was flying about my house and the surrounding area. It was daytime but everyone was in there beds and I could sort of see through the roofs of the buildings down at them - I could even see my body lying there in bed too.

The sensation of returning to my body is also like no other I have ever experienced.

Smile inner dimensional doorways to everywhere land!

Astral travelling, and lucid dreaming, are I feel interconnected,I used to practise the art of lucid dreaming,it is really about focus and intent,I recall
one such dream, that "caught" me unaware,I suddenly became conscious in
this "dream" I was in Ireland walking down a country lane, towards where my
grandparents used to live? The operative word here being "used",being
consciously aware in this dream,I knew that my grandparents were dead, but
as anything seems possibly in this state,I "decided" that my grandparents
would be "home" to meet me.And they were!We hugged one another and then had a cup of tea!I sadly left their house, and then within a blink of an
eye awoke in bed at home in England. We all leave our bodies in sleep, some
remember and others do not.I feel that there could be a whole area of
investigation into lucid dreaming and its connection to astral travelling, maybe
some rich university will take up the study?

    kind regards michael.

I have meditated a bit, although I never felt as though I left my body, there are often times when I did not feel anything at all, I didn't think. When I snapped out of it I realised that I had been in a weird state of mind. I have never had experiences where I left my body.

Also, what is rep power and how do you get/use it

    Hey tromebonetom,
    Welcome to the TOE!
The human mind is full of mysteries, they cannot be explained in terms of scientific terminologies and concepts.
What you have experienced occurs when you are fatigued (mostly in the brain). You tend to rest your brain unintentionally, at which you think about nothing and stare at a point in the room without blinking for a while. Then as your realisation of your surroundings returns, you return to normal as well.

Rep power is you reputation power, if you post a very intersting or brilliant idea of concept, other members rate you and give you feedback with rep powers. You can check it out in you User CP area. So basically, it's a way to show your scientific understanding potential.

    Best regards

Cool because whales are people too...

I have only left my body a few times during meditation. The most vivid (and profound) was when I was a young whale in a pod in the North Atlantic. It was rapture...I just don't know if this was 'astral travelling'. It was just where I went.

Smile I just got up and left myself!

Although sleep is most often way to enter these other dimensional portals,it
is not always the case,I have experienced leaving the body in full waking
consciousness, and it was a strange feeling to say the least,I was sat in
armchair thinking of a particular friend of mine, when all of a sudden I "saw"
myself stand up and walk out of the room?I was quite stunned by this and as
I "called" out to myself,"I" rushed back into me!This sudden return felt as though I had be punched in the Solar-Plexus by a fist!It took several minutes
for me to recover from this.

    kind regards michael.

    Michael,
Is your story true? Maybe it was a mind trick(perhaps even an optical illusion). Did you actually see a physical qualitised person (you) walking out the door, or, was it just a fill up with your imagination (or desire/want). Were you conscious while the event took place? How can you call yourself back?

Sorry to sound like a doctor questioning a patient, but i'm really interested in this event you've encountered.

    Best regards

Smile mind the plexus when you go solar?

Thank you Unreal Zelta,no you do not sound like a doctor!Asking questions.
    Is this story true,you ask?Absolutely affirmitive!You asked did I see a "real"
person, yes me!I was sat on the chair, and I saw myself get up and walk off!
Was I conscious and wide awake?Yes I was!I had already said that in the previous post. How can you call your self back, you ask?Good question! As there was no instruction manual handy, detailing how to return to the body
in three easy lessons!I did what I thought was appropriate at the time, and
that was to call myself back to me!As i said in the previous post this caused
an awful shock to the solar-plexus area of my body. This experience happened in 1975.
Hope that suffices for an answer,Zelta.

    kind regards michael
