I would like to start this thread with the question What is life?And is there anything that is dead-un-alive!I will add my comments if there are any takers on this question.look forward to your replies!

Well, as the question waht is life is quite wide, I wnt to start by parts. I don't know anything that is both alive and dead, and notihng can be. Maybe you can say it colloquially about people in vegetation, who are in coma, dead and alive at the same time, but it's nto exactly both.

I do know things though, tha are neither dead or alive. For example, the screen of my computer is not alive, and not dead.

Hydrogen ion concentration, and we are all addicts. We have to have our pH within such a narrow range. As a Med Tech, I used to watch the docs battle to stablilize the patients. I used to wonder what it would be like physically to have range of say 3.0 instead of 0.3 to exist in. Our systems would be so inhospitable to germs and viruses.
The pOH crowd is a whole other story. Cheers to that one!

Imagine,you take a pebble grind it to dust,it is still within the mineral kingdom,
you then mix this pebble dust with some earth and plant carrots,after a while
when they start to grow,the carrot in order to expand needs food,so it absorbs
the mineral contents in its surroundings,the pebble dust has now just been
raised out of the mineral kingdom,and into the vegtable kingdom,and before long
when the carrots are ripe we eat them,and then it is raised into the human
kingdom.so in a matter of less than 6 months a stone has been transmuted and
accended three kingdoms!The elements that were the stone are now less lethargic than they were,a bit more of expressed life-fulness.

Things can't change from kindom. Atoms can do, but if and only if they enter a system which is in that kindom (like when we burn trees and then someone breeths the smoke, the atoms have gone from one kindom to another, but by leaving the previous kindom nd entering the new one.). So we can say it's chemistry that controls this branch of biology.

Define life,in truth it cannot be done,for all is alive and all isa mystery,we know
of life as it is manifested,but that is only the outer visible shell.the animating
life force within,we know absolutely nothing about,when we talk of trying to
define the living thing,we are only viewing the garment,and not the weaver.
The truth to What life Really is,is totally unknown to mankind,and will be forever
that way,the ancient wisdom call life a dark flame.that will not illumine the mind
of man.It is also called"that which nought can be said"We can and do understand manifestations of life,but not the hidden Manifestor!!

Generally life is the same as existence, i.e. any phenomenon (event, occurrence) in 3-d space within time, but I’ll add at the same time, that life can be manifested at various different levels: for inst.: a stone or a brick is the existence of matter at inorganic level, i.e. inorganic sort - inorganic kind of existence, but if this stone or brick is the part of building, it also is the manifestation of group existence (as this separate stone or brick is part of unity – of building as well), and if the god – the soul makes home in this building (for example the church starts to function in it), so the mentioned stone or brick starts to exist as a part of living organism, (since the functioning church can be considered a living organism – the building with soul in it) remaining at the same time the same brick that existed separately at inorganic occurrence.

We all are parts of a single whole (i.e. we exist in different forms, i.e. single whole expresses itself in different forms at different levels), and its existence generally presents itself changing of its parts’ conditions (one kind of life turns into another), but it remains permanent as a whole, so everything is alive and nothingness only is un-alive…

I hate repeating but I’d like to mention the poetry of Jalal ad-din rumi again – let’s enjoy it once more:

The cycle of transformation (the cycle of Sansara) is mentioned in the first part of it, but reading of the second part also wouldn’t be useless:



I was a pebble, died as pebble - became flower,
Died as flower and found shelter into animal,
Died as animal and turned into tribe of Adam,
I will die there but don’t you think that I’m scared?
I’ll be transforming, new days lighting with hope,
So that to get the wings of angel, lightness to dope,
And ultimately when the turn of angel is coming,

Nothingness only will be showing un-faced glare,

We can say that anything that is aware of itself is alive. Since we are forms of physical substance of the universe and aware of the universe, then we can say that the universe is aware of itself. Thus, all is life.

I whole heartily agree with that Dave,100%,all is alive,all we
have to do now is fully understand what that means!
