The nature of glamour, and its hold on us.

Smile <!-- google_ad_section_start -->The nature of glamour,and its hold on us.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Today the glamour of materiality is lessening perceptibly .The peoples of the world are entering the wilderness experience ,and will find in the wildderness how little is required for full living, true experience and real happiness. The gluttonous desire for possessions is not regarded as so reputable a desire as formerly, and a desire for riches is not producing the clutching hands as earlier in racial history. When desire is absent and man seeks nothing for the seperated self, the responsibility of material wealth can be safely handled again I would now like to move to the glamour of sentiment.Sentiment holds the good people of earth in thrall, and in a dence fog of emotional reactions.Love ,for many people, for the majority indeed,is not really love but a mixture of the desire to love and the desire to be loved, plus a willingness to do anything to show and evoke this sentiment, and consequently to be more comfortable in ones own interior life.It is this pseudo-love,based primarily on a theory of love, which characterises so many human relationships, such as those existing, for instance, between husband and wife, parents and their children.Glamoured by their sentiment for them and knowing little of thelove of the soul which is free itself and leaves others free also, they wander in a dence fog, often dragging with them the ones they desire to serve in order to draw forth a responsive affection.Study the word affection, and see its true meaning, affection is not love.It is that desire which we express through an exertion of mind and this activity affects our contacts,it is not the spontaneous desirelessness of the soul who asks nothing for its seperated self. This glamour of sentiment imprisons and bewilders all the Nice people in the world, imposing upon them obligations which do not exist, and producing a glamour which must eventually be dissipated by pouring in true and selfless love. The whole nature of glamour is vast, and could fill many bookshelfs to cover its entiretyI have briefly outlined that which seems to me important at this time,I am also painfully aware of much more that could be said,Can we ever break out of this glamour then?yes we certanly can,but it will take an awful lot of soul searching, and listening to the inner voice of conscience, which if heeded will lead us out of the fog and miasma and into the sunlight of reality..

kindest regards,michael.

I think also that an inner deprivation is at the root for the hunger for glamour.
I could further suppose that the hunger for the kind of god the Judeo-Christ-Arabs have developed is an exponential manifestation of this lack and is a kind of short cut. Perhaps even a "falling in love" with the opposite sex for a period is also rooted in this same complex seeing the either/or nature of the symptoms above.

regards

Jim

Smile If I paint a rock golden, will it turn into a nugget?

We seem to be surrounded by glamour, seduced by the package, and miss the maggot within! The glamour of the intellect, which can lead us into false-pride
and arrogant behavior, which has many shadings!making a God out of science,
and exaggerating its importance, looking at the Label, and failing to See the cloth!
There are many glamours which we are all totally immersed in,it is like a swirling
mist,or fog, that can blind us from seeing the inner beauty of life, the surface can
seem very bright, scratch it though, and what will you find,a maggot!

kind regards michael.

Smile the glamour of seperateness.

It would seem at times that a miasmic cloud engulfs us and blots out the light
each of us have our own things to do,some may get engrossed in this persuit
and forget what else there is.the selfish nature that seems inherit in man blinds
him to the real connections he has with others ofhis kind, wars and all conflicts
are the result of this particular glamour. When we can see that we are all related
and have a common bond, then we will be further along the way to dispel this
most desructive of glamours.

kind regards michael.

Cool

Let's not forget those who are scorched of the sunlight of reality growing up. To them a few kind words, mere surface glamour to one, are golden to a scorched psyche. Adulthood and simple courtesy brings with it a glamour heretofore unknown. Finally leaving those days of children should be seen and not heard. What fog to drench oneself in. One person's fog is another person's first drink of the poison, and it is sweet, sweet poison.

Beauty is a disease, the self-projection of superiority based on appearance. The reality is found in the early morning on awaking and the ritual splashing of the water on a pocked, moled, and/or wrinkled face that doesn't even own any eyebrows. I have seen the truth, yea verily, for I have wandered the checkout lanes of supermarkets and grimaced at the sight of STARS WITHOUT MAKEUP!

The sting is a sting whether based on ejecting the poison or sucking in your energy. Only its direction is complimentary.
The wearers of beauty seem to have this "negative" sting, this syphoning action. Then perhaps much like a mosquito, slip in a little poison during this syphoning just to make the transaction more interesting.
But the story of nature is similar in its variations of survival at a cost.
Evolution at the sacrafice of the adversary. Some think evolution has stopped for humans because society ensures the survival of most everyone.
Think again! This little thing called WAR. It is Darwinian evolution continued unabated.
But we roamed far afield from beauty's sting...

Beauty is skin deep but it has the power to move mountains....

If the beauty of a woman, a flower or a lady bug can be so lethal, how many more such things are hidden from the public eye... for those who wish to discover... decode the secrets that the creator has reserved for those who look harder than the rest....

Glamour and its repercussions are evident specially in the lives of stars who after a time have no life of their own but the life they lived for the public.... and they die pretty sad deaths with burdens of great realisations that came pretty late....

Indeed beauty and glamour are two separate concepts and in general should not be mixed up. Whoever is overly influenced by glamour would have a hard time discovering beauty.
I’ve been interested in the causes of glamour. Boredom, toil ethics (or no choice), the what’s-in-it-for-#1. The workings of the poverty-manufacturing mind out of relative differences. Safety above all…
Boredom, a direct result from the above, is not a simple condition either. It is, they say, a combination of anger and some other things…

Smile glamour casts a fog over the real.

Glamour veils and hides the truth behind the fogs and mists of feeling and
emotional reaction;it is of unique and terrible potency, owing to the strength
of human nature to identify itself with the astral nature, and to the vital nature of conscious and sentient response itself, glamour can only be dissipated by the inflow of clear, directed light, this is true of the life of the
individual,or of humanity as a whole.Here are the names of some glamours;
The glamour of destiny, this is a glamour which indicates to the one whom it controls, that he has important work to do,and that he must speak and work as destined. This feeds a pride which has no foundation in fact. The glamour
of duty;this leads to an over-emphasis of the sense of responsibilty,or
futilty or of importance. The glamour of the mind;and of its efficiency, and
its capacity to deal with every problem. This leads inevitably to isolation and
loneliness.one more ,there are many many more, theglamour of desire;with
its reflex action upon the physical body. This leads to a constant condition of
fighting and of turmoil. It negates all peace and fruitful work and must some day be brought to an end!
kind regards michael
