Unique thoughts-Had any at all?

Sometimes, a theory developer gets some good thoughts that can explain a lot of things and hopefully becomes a TOE. Usually, there are still some weakness with its key feature. (Otherwise, already easily completed as a TOE.)

Normally, that person need to elaborate 10 to 100 times more efforts to tackle that hidden weakness and usually still in vain. That is why the history of science progress very slow but great leaped after revolutionary thoughts. Once a revolutionary thought or a paradox needs 1,000 times more efforts and luckily came out a solution, then, perhaps it is a unique thought or interpretation.

To test whether it is unique or not, the easiest way to do is to make some google searches with that key word, key term and key phrases. If really no results found in the internet, congratulation, perhaps unique!

Sad to mention that: self created new words/acronym, naive interpretations and crackpots usually not being respected as unique!

One of the saddest things I discovered some years ago was that you can spend your entire lifetime, and even if you live to be 100 years old, you will never have even one unique thought pass through your brain?

it is well neigh impossible for thought patterns (ideas) not to be repeated down through
the ages.

Dear mkirkpatrick,

You mentioned the term "though patterns". Actually, a thought is already a pattern of ideas.

While a single individual idea might have been sparkled and repeated down through the ages. A thought need to include many ideas. Those serial ideas need to be organized to form a pattern - as what you said "thought pattern".

Just like in copyright laws, ideas, mathematics and equations do not enjoy copyright protection. However, their serial patterns together with annotations can be copyrighted.

So, most ideas are not unique but a valid thought (pattern) on TOE is likely to be unique and thus able to claim for a First Priority.

Brother, after studying carts loads of literature of almost all the ancient civilizations, philosophical treatises, done comparative religious studies and being constantly engaged in intellectual digressions, these observations are really deplorable! The ephemeral world we are living in is a unique wonder, and so are its constituents. Each unit/aspect of nature is unique. Its top of the creation is a ‘unique wonder’ as it is equipped with a unique quality of its creator (Nature), the quality of creation. Of all the living beings, only human beings are capable of creation. All the time their brains are inventing and discovering unique machines and wonderful powers of nature. From stone-age to planetary voyages, is the marvel of human intellect!
There can be nothing more unique in Nature than the unity behind the, seemingly multiple diversity. There is beauty, beauty all around us. Nature is beauty, so is human creativity. Each changing phase of Nature is an extended reflection of its beauty. There is nothing more unique than beauty. Come out the orbit of the mind, and delve in the realms beyond---of consciousness (wisdom), which the physical science denies, and you would be in bliss forever, which is the nature of beauty.
