    Smile Re: Weightless Universe

    Thanks for your reply Gautam.
If two forces are opposed to each other and are perfectly balanced as must happen according to Newton's law, it does not mean that the forces do not exist. Perhaps this dumb engineer simply cannot understand your reasoning, but I really do not. How can gravity not exist simply because all gravitational forces balance?
Incidentally the province that I live in in South Africa is Gauteng which means Place of Gold, so now you know what you are made of!!
    Kind regards

    Re: Weightless Universe

    Yes Tedjay
Because the force is created by application of force. Everything in this universe is either at rest or in uniform state of motion(which is again a state of rest) on its own. Thats why the universe is weightless. The earth ,planets, stars and the galaxies all are in state of rest. They are not revolving in their paths because of the gravitational force. They are all weightless so no force is required to make them move. They are as good as at rest. Forces are created because of disturbances caused by rest of the three forces which are of kinetic nature. Disturbances create weight and the disturbed material bodies move to attain a weightless positions. There is nothing like gravity.
Most of the gold you dig ,Tedjay, comes to my gold crazy country, India.
    Thanx and warm regards
    Gautam
