If something exists, it always does, and if something doesn't, it never will.
| But Nobody...
What about the old quote how can something come from nothing then?

| | Re: What happens after you die? I think it's fairly accurate. Something can't come from nothing in the absolute sense, but can observably arise illusively in the relative sense.
So, illusory existence always exists permanently; and nonexistence never exists, obviously. | | | | Blue Belt Join Date: Mar 2005 Posts: 128

| Re: What happens after you die? So far nobody addressed the why did we have a body aside from reproducing it which seems to beg the question.
It's all very well that we melt back into the infinite from which we "melted out" thanks to the body, that we become one with the One after a short interruption again because of the body.
This body, which seems to be a church surrounded by its world that we tend practically every minute. Eat, wash, toilet, reproduce, provide for above - almost without interruption to eventually throw it into the garbage? It is landfill folks no matter how you look at it. What is this body for?
An energy pack for something?
Cheese for spirit rats?
Brain food for thought vampires?
I sure don't know... | | | | Master

We spend some time depending on our karma in spiritual planes before we drop into the lower species in the physical-material.
The "Wheel of Life" consists of the --- physical - material --- the astral --- the causal--- and the supra causal --- in the supra causal you are free spirit freed fro the wheel of life --- in Sach Khand or the "True Plane" you are one with God as Infinite Consciousness or Infinite Love. | I have to disagree with your wheel of life. The IgM molecule, assembled post placenta, and making the largest molecule in the immune detection business, antibody analysis, etc., it is a wheel designed for delivery to the nongestational life. As you fret about your rims on your Mercedes and how many inches, etc, you completely leave out the requirements of your other "wheels". Don't count yourself out. Simply make sure that when the two tries are given to exit the organ, it is incapable of reacting to a self. Otherwise, no go, no matter how much it is needed. Life's a bitch sometimes.
Word: Noone told me either.

| | Re: What happens after you die? We could look for themes rather than facts. Stories can stand for a lot of different things. We don't need exact linquistic definitions as long as we feel the general "lay of the land." Karma and the various circles can be illustrated many ways.
Interestingly the quantum "theme" doesn't jive with the relativity "theme" and we "know" that both are right in their fashion. Perhaps it means we are missing a third theme or an expansion of the other two until they harmonize. I heard the latter is beginning to happen.
Spacetime, for example is becoming untenable as a medium in relativity. (It doesn't make much sense in quantum proportions.)
We may find some themes in this expansion for this thread too. | | | | Moderator

| Re: What happens after you die? Death is an illusion, and is directly linked into glamour and maya,we are eternal beings,as
we are life? What changes is our mode of expression (bodies)vehicles, that provide entry
into this dense physical plane, and provide an anchor for our soul to express itself.

| | Re: What happens after you die? I like the "Disney Land" theory of the earthly plain and the body's temporal participation (going on a ride) in it because it illustrates a wider philosophical principle. Actually that is what I had in mind originally when posted a narrow view of the body's carreer in our park.
Mystery is created by using a too narrow lense. The more complete the picture around our theme the less mystery can survive. However I'd have a hard time imagining Darfur as Disney land. | | | | 2nd degree Black Belt Join Date: Jun 2005 Posts: 292

| | Re: What happens after you die? You all assume that life and death has meaning or than to provide a blueprint for evolution
The "you" consists of a body that is maintained by billions of living cells that die and are born everyday. Your "consciousness" is the awareness of internal order created by these cells, an emergence of something in addition to your body's cells. This consciousness so far has not been proven to exist outside the body but nevertheless we are we contemplating an extension after death or before birth only because our selfish consciousness cannot deal with eternal nothingness.
We are also assuming that the human existence is the pinnacle of evolution. We dismiss the fact that a "society" of humans, can be seen as a separate organism similar to the "You" out of your body's cells. The society protects and we protect this society, we are ready to die in wars for it, so how are we different to our own cells....a continuation of order in response to increasing entropy

| | Re: What happens after you die? This is a religious question. If we knew how we'll end up after death, there is no need for religion. I do not believe physics and religion to be mixed. Physics is about understanding what can be explained by logic. Religion is about what we can never explain physically. | | | | 9th degree Black Belt
