There is an article today in the british newspaper the Daily Mail regards investigations
into patients in a hopital who "see" relatives and friends, who visit them shortly before they
die,a doctor is looking into number of patients who report this phenomena, nurses say that
they are quite used to seeing this, and take it to mean that the patient will soon die after this visit from their "invisible friends and relatives"!

regards michael.

Re: What happens after you die?

We have also these stories. However one explination is that there are chemical changes in the brain of a person before he/she dies. I guess it explain this phenamenon

A good way of getting rid of it might be bringing amino-acids in the bloodstream.

Don't really know, Dipayankar.

Just thought it could be important to post (cause I posted here about drugs earlier and thought it could be important). (Also found posting in this thread was the best way to quote it (and also found quoting it was the best way to refer to it).)

Didn't mean to interrupt your conversation, if that would be what you're referring to.

So please do continue (sorry).

No just wondering why we halucinate??? What causes the brain to go into a state of trance?? Why do we have near death experiences... Need answers..

Dipayanker,it would seem we have near death experience, because we approach the
portal of departure, and in so doing we begin to become aware of the etheric-plane,
sometimes also called the astral-plane,these are NOT hulucinations, rather they are
natural-normal- responses that automatically engage when we become conscious of
the astral/etheric plane, this all happens in accordance with natural law.

When we die, fully, that is when the "silver cord/chord/ is severed, then there is no possible
return to that physical body,in "near death experiences" such as "dying" on the operating
table, but then returning to the physical body,we can and do experience "the after life" and
meet up with old friends and family, only then to feel a "pull" back into the body, which then cause the astral to fade out,and the physical plane comes online again!

I think it is also possible to have two choices. One choice is based on reasoned rational thought and the other choice is based on emotion and want.

Although I current lean towards the "Eaten by Worms" theory, I once leaned towards an afterlife and reincarnation. The countless stories of people who died and were revived, and then told very similar stories about what happened to them while they were dead, were very influential to me. You can't simply say that all those stories were fabrications can you? It would be interesting to know why these stories are so similar. Perhaps it's the way the brain is wired (by evolution perhaps) to operate as the body dies.
I subscribe to "other" because your "spirit, soul, etc.", what ever term you prefer, is part of the overall you. The body is the hardware and your mind houses the software.
Try closing your eyes in a quiet environment, say your bedroom at night, the "entity" that realizes that it IS, is your software, your true persona. That is what is released at the time of death leaving your body behind.
You may not go to a higher plane of existence, but you pass to a different plane. Like it is said " everything is in a constant state of change." we are no exception.

find the answer yourself by creating the same conditions in the laboratory of your 'body'(mind)! very easy, experiment on your 'self' (mind,in this case)& expose the 'spiritualists' , who have mortgaged the minds of millions of your conutry men! love.ls.

I'm thinking of endorfines.
(Endorfine is an opioid peptide.)

A peptide is a combination which is formed by a number of amino-acids which are connected to eachother.

I also think NDE is probably similar to REM-sleep.
