First of all... I think NDE on its own doesn't really prove or falsify the existence of an afterlife.
I think anyone could have it; and it could even be positive or negative.
I think to get the symptoms of NDE:
induction of a deficiency of glutamat by exposing the receptor NMDA to ketamine.
For me Near Death Experience is just a panic condition of the brain... nothing else
Thats interesting DIP,what is then the mind doing, whilst the brain is in panic?
Prehaps it is checking that the silver cord/chord is unbroken,'cause if it is,then the NDE,
will become an ADE-actual-death-experience!
regards michael.

Perhaps near-death experience is comparable to near-zero kelvin. It jiggles the brain.
I think you have it there NOBODY,the brain jiggles,as the mind wiggles-free from the
rather rapidly approaching grim-reaper scythe clutched firmly in hand!
regards michael.

For me mind and the brain are one and the same thing...
