It took such a long time to get to where we are, sigh ... what origins? This implies an ending if we had origins ... mine were mom and dad, do I return there? hmmm interesting ... questions questions we were created and we create in the normal expected way of organic life exceptions noted and in this process I can not see the recycled part just, eternity ~ change

In 1984 I experienced an NDE which was so intense I called it an IDE or an "In Death Experience." I suppose I call it that because while gone I was told that I was in the state our world called death. I was told I could not stay, it was not my time and then told that I was energy. After this life changing experience I wondered about the reference to "our world" and where had I went. I wondered about "its not my time" so is there a specific determined time and I wondered about, "you are energy." Hence I became a researcher....I think our physical body dies but not the internal essence of who we are....energy cannot die, it changes to other forms.

nicely put Mikal ... the energy or essence of the individual persona is a quantifiable existence, we share it so it is changeable, ... being told thus as you say above i can not help but wonder who did the talking ... we are after all a few million years behind in some area perspective of the universe regards evolution? interesting these NDE/IDE events having so much in common even in isolated cultures not knowing of the event except in there own culture but then we did all come from the same tree ...interesting though.

Strange thing about this "talking" it was done through eye, face and emotional communication through a presence which stood before me..it was indeed interesting and definitely life changing...I am no longer afraid of death.

this presence, could it have been yourself? I ask that because when you relate the talking as empathic an so clear the nature of empathic communication is best with one own self ... nothing crazy about it implied either and as such could have been you in another time frame uh oh here I go, you may not have recognized yourself?

In the Baha'i faith I was told death is the essence of all life and i got into model logics to the word essence and do so then subscribe being a prudent person to avoid death but not out of fear either just prudence as it comes and goes ...

My IDE was a little like being fully conscious in the twilight zone..I did not get a sense that this presence was me..but was a presence with me...I felt large hands on my back from shoulder to shoulder as I was rapidly pushed down that spiralling tunnel of swirling light and dark. I do remember that as this experience transpired I had no memory of my life, earth or my family. I was I could only say hyper-conscious in those moments but I am baffled by the fact that although my physical body lay back here with my daughter, my body has some kind of memory of what occurred...strange stuff!!

There was a short story I read many years ago of a man suffering in cancer who had a Chinese fellow come in to his death bed and give opium balls to smoke away the pain. It was in an Australian setting, mid last century or earlier. As the man was in these dream states he came out of them to start describing a life he was living under the influence. He started to record the events of being a young baby boy growing up in a family and even named them and where they were.

The interesting thing of this story which ended with his death was that his family put in print the record made with a foot note that after he had died they went to the place where he described and there was such a boy just born to a family of the same name he had recorded and in the years it took to print the story all the events he had described came true.

now that is strange .

Graham..thanks for sharing such a unique story. I do believe that there could be a greater mystery such as reincarnation and believe these kinds of stories when validated certainly speak to us as the mystery of life all wrapped up in the mystery of us.

Hi, Mikal.

I have had a VERY similar experience. It is part of the reason why I'm participating in TOE Quest. If you don't mind, I will PM you to compare notes.

I'm also not afraid of death. It's obvious that we are physically the "re-cycled" with a twist; the twist being the DNA component. It is only after my NDE that I absolutely know we are spirit as well. One impression I have of the experience is that it was so right, like "going home." I, too, did not want to go back. The entity with me communicated without words but none the less very firmly sent me back...
