I thought it would be interesting to get outsiders' opinions as well as your own members' opinions. I voted for other just to be a rebel. Oooo...the danger.

The choices presented are all based on the assumption that the universe started expanding sometime (probably from a Big Bang). Another option is that it has always existed in its current size. Perhaps the universe has a definite size but that size cannot be measured.

The cosmos is infinite, the universe is open and expanding into the cosmos.
This is the most likely according to latest cosmological data.

So, how can the universe grow in the universe?

if with the word cosmos you mean the "outer-universe" then yes, I agree, it is possibly infinite or zero ( a)for me these numbers are identical b) if it is "nothing" what is out there, then it's zero). I had also thought that it was more probable for the universe to be open and curved becaused it seemed more near to my image of the universe. Although I believe it could be closed also because this would make it more comprehensible.

At one time the term "universe" was defined as all that physically exists. The progression of science into new theories has refined the definitions such that the term "COSMOS" replaces "all that physically exists". The universe is now considered as only one entity or universe in the cosmos.
It is hard to keep up with the rules and definitions when the controlling powers keep changing them.

I it would be infinite if we measured it from the "inside". If we had the power to measure it from the "outsite" I believe it would appear to be a single point. From my understanding a sinlge point has no length, width, depth (it takes two or more points to do this). It would then be immesurable as there would be nothing to compare it to.

Now, you sayd in your previous post that the evidence of data took to the open shape of the universe. Do you mean any of these or another one?:
1. it is open and flat.
2. it is open and curved.

Infinitely expanding non-flat universe. Curvature is irrelevant.
