That stat. is referring to Death Valley, Mojave Desert, South Eastern California, where temps can reach 136 degrees. Hardly anyone lives there... Park rangers and such. The rest of Southern California is very heavily populated, but not the driest and hottest, average is 72 to 76 degrees, rainfall is average 13 inches, not enough for the growing population.

    Time uncovered brings new insights.

Re: Is global warming mostly man-made?

GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry told New Hampshire voters Wednesday that he does not believe in manmade global warming, calling it a scientific theory that has not been proven.
"I think we're seeing almost weekly, or even daily, scientists that are coming forward and questioning the original idea that manmade global warming is what is causing the climate to change," the Texas governor said on the first stop of a two-day trip to the first-in-the-nation primary state.

It always seems odd to me that the same people who say that a butterfly flapping its wings over Brazil can cause a storm in Europe will nevertheless argue that the combined effect of a countless millions of cars, trucks, fridges, power plants, factories, stripped forests and rampant urbanisation has no effect at all. What are the chances?

I don't know Pete; but the poll shows a similar split in reasoning with half on either side of the issue.

    "Is global warming mostly man-made?"

The question asks for a definative answer also; I am prone to say no when asked this question because it is not possible for me as a single observer to prove this

also I would answer "Is it possible global warming is mostly man-made?" then I would answer yes.

Also the question "Is global warming some-what man-made?" I would answer yes.

The question is very specific; indeed if global warming is caused by man-made things, what man-made things...all man made things?

Does a person walking with out shoes on cause less warming than someone with shoes...these are the specific questions that need to be
spelled out in black and white for everyone to see.

Does driving on a tuesday cause as much warming as driving on a saturday?

    These are important questions.
