If you just take the time to watch Discovery Channel, you will find these geared temple machines existed centuries b.c. to impress the ignorant into the blind following of corrupt leaders. It's called the "Temple Machines" show. Religeous tricks existed long back into many nations/empire's histories...

That reinforces my point that religion was always used as a toll by the rich and powerful to snub and exploit the poor in earlier days.

That might be what you saw,but this discovery,(which is nothing to do with the tv channel btw)was not one of these devices,it was something completely different,as they used to say on Monty pythons flying circus.

If you are trying to reinforce the belief that this device used gears and gear trains, then what Llyod said about temple gears also reinforce the same truth. I guess both the stories say the same thing..

Prehaps,but the deviceI was discribing was not what he suggested,I feel it had a completely different use,and that it was not made to dupe people as was suggested.!

Scientifically both the devices used the same technology. Probably the intent of usage was different..

I think that what these dicoveries do,is to bring to mind the very real possibilty that in
times long past,I mean in millions of years,there was advanced civilizations here on earth.

I remember reading a old Readers Digest book,that was about unexplained mysteries,
one story in there caught my eye,it was about miners in the USA who when breaking
open a large rock found a footprint inside,which seemed to have been made by someone
wearing rubber soled boots,much like wellingtons!Now the age of this was approx 170
million years old?This really caught my eye and made me think,I still remember this after
fifty years.

In India we have something called musical pillars. Here the rocks are carved in such a way that they make musical sounds. These are also from pre historic sites.

There is so much waiting to be discovered as well as plenty that already has,it would seem ancient civilizations have been very advanced,maybe more so than us,and then have been destroyed either with there own hand,or natural global diasater.
