I would like to start this thread of by reporting some mysterious artifacts and looking at
the implications of these enigmas.First, for the past three decades miners at the Wonderstone silver mine near Ottosdal in the western Transvaal,South Africa, have been
extracting out of deep rock several strange metallic spheriods,so far at least 200 have been found. In 1979,several were closely examined by JR Mclver, professor of geology
at the university of Witwaterstand in Johannesberg, and geologist professor Andries Bisschoff of Potsshefstroom university.

The metallic spheroids look like flattened globes, averaging 1to 4 inches in diameter, and
their exteriors usually are colored steel blue with a reddish reflection, and embedded in
the metal are tiny flects of white fibers. They are made of a nickel-steel alloy which does not occur naturally, and is of a composition that rules them out, being of meteoric origin.
Some have only a thin shell about a quarter of an inch thick, and when broken open are found filled with a strange spongy material that disintegrated into dust on contact with air.

What makes all this very remarkable is that the spheroids were mined out of a layer of pyrophyllite rock, dated both geologically and by the various radio-isotope dating techniques as being at least 2.8 BILLION YEARS OLD?

regards michael.

Michael ... I am not sure where you got the story of the bullet hole thru the skull from but the Museum has 517 listings of artifacts that can be labelled as 'skull'

None of them are to do with this story. It has no listings at all for 'Palaeolithic Skull'. The story must be from some other site ??

I can't find any credible reports on the 'wonderstones' on the net ..... there are many listings but they are all associated with UFO's , etc ... the mining report for SA makes no mention of these little buggers

The skull is in the natural history musuem in London,so i am told.

Look up the Piri Reis map,you will find that on several sites, and it is well known of.

Dear Michael ... I checked out the map .... It gets many things wrong .... the following site gives a pretty fair explanation of it .... I am not convinced that it shows anything that was not known at the time.

Thanks Greg,I checked out the website you gave,it does suggest a different story,I admit,
however there are many others websites that say the opposite,so who is right?I guess
you pays your money and takes your choice.

For me it sounds really exciting, and would go a long way if proved beyond doubt to be
genuine and authentic,to proving that there were ancient civilzations like Atlantis and that
we had much to rediscover? However i shall keep an open mind on the whole thing,I saw
it there and thought it would be of interest to fellow toers.

Giant stone balls of Costa Rica.Workmen hacking their way through the dense jungle
of Costa Rica to clear an area for banana plantations in the 1930s stumbled upon some
incredible objects;dozens of stone balls, many of which were perfectly spherical. They varied in size from as small as a tennis ball to an astonishing 8 feet in diameter and weighing 16 tons!Although the great stone balls are clearly man-made,it is unknown who
made them, for what purpose and, most puzzling, how they achieved such spherical precision.

I was in Costa Rica a few months ago,I would have surely visited this place had I known
about it.

regards michael.

On the left side of the skull is a perfectly round hole nearly a third of an inch in diameter,
curiously, there are no radial split-lines around the hole or other marks that should have been left by a cold weapon, such as an arrow or spear, opposite the hole, the cranium is shattered, and reconstruction of the fragments show the skull was blown from the inside out,as from a rifle shot.In fact any slower a projectile would have produced neither the neat hole nor the shattering effect.Foreensic experts who examined the skull agree the
cranial damage could not have been caused by anything but a high speed projectile, purposely fired at the prehistoric victim.

There are two possible conclusions, either the specimen is not as old as it is claimed to be,
and was shot by a european in recent centuries,or the remains are as old as claimed, and
the marksman was ancient too.The skull was excavated from a depth of 60 feet, mostly
of lead rock, the second conclusion is more plausible. But who possessed gunpowder
38000 years ago,and had high powered rifles like those in use today?

regards michael.
Skeptic commons sense says that the most rational explanation is the right one.
Fact number one - these rocks are correctly dated to their different era's
Fact number two - This skull had to receive a fast moving accelerated solid.
Fact number three- The skull was penetrated on the unfortunate event that while they were cooking around the fire a object burst and the frag hit him directly.

I was going through your posts Micheal. It was interesting (especially your little overtures with Llyod). However I have a small question. If there was an advanced civilisation prior to us, why dont we find something really technically advanced rather than some stones and a primitive battery??

In other civilisations why do they have to invent gunpowder?? Cant they invent some more intelligent killing mechanisms???

Thanks dipayankar,(hopefully that unhealthy stalker is now exorcised)thats a good question, but when you look at the supposed ages of these lost civlizations,it is no real
surprise that we find little remains,in England just this week, they have found the remains
of an ancient village, just a mile away from Stone-Henge an ancient circle of stones that
are on salisbury plain in Wiltshire England, now we have know about the stones for all time
as they are clearly visible above ground, and date back around 10000 years, the village has only just been found, local farmer dug up some pottery and reported his find.

Antlantis is far older than that, and it is thought that the survivors from that continent went
to Egypt and central america, and were the brains behind the building of the pyramids,
which of course are still standing, and evidence of an advanced culture.

regards michael.
