see out not in, know in not out - 02-09-2006, 01:59 PM

The solidity of matter is based on the principle that reality is a telescopic view of the outside not a microscopic view of the inside (e.g. inside the mind). This means that the smallest things are more than able to see the entire Universe. On the other hand the Universe is unable to see the smallest things. In other words, small sees big cannot. Even though the Universe cannot see anything, it has complete confidence or knowledge that all the small things exist otherwise itself would not. The knowledge of the Universe is based on blind faith not flashes of insight. Blind faith is the same as absolute knowledge. Although small things see the Universe they lack knowledge of what they saw. Therefore, parts create holism while the whole creates indeterminism.

From human perspective, the outcomes of these endeavors for holism and indeterminism became respectively the studies of general relativity and quantum mechanics. Human beings can neither look out nor know in but still they keep looking in and knowing out. The mind is the inner being of space-time. The cosmos is the outer being of space-time. The outer brain is visible but the inner mind is not. The inner mind is conscious but the outer brain is not. Still the mind needs the brain and the brain needs the mind. Without each other none of them exists. A blind Universe knows the emptiness of the featureless vacuum while the mindless vacuum sees the extensiveness of the blind Universe.

Smile the farther we look within the closer the outside becomes! - 02-09-2006, 02:20 PM

We do indeed look in-so far, and also look out so far, in effect I suppose we are
as good as blind and groping in the haze. All seems to be well, and as you say Antonio, we accept much on faith, the facts are a little blurred, but there is hope and when we understand more of the workings of the soul, I am sure more will be revealed. Thanks for a great topic Antonio.

Kindest regards, Michael.

Cool they are the same thing, just a different perspective - 02-09-2006, 11:57 PM

Antonio,
Great thread! I think that inner space and outer space are the same things, seen from different perspectives. I can't remember who said in our last chat that quantum properties are observed within the cosmos, but it makes sense to me (even though I haven't studied it and don't have any empirical knowledge). For me there is something significant in the fact that QM often leads to spiritual debates and has been compared to some schools of eastern spiritual thought.

I like this thread. I see a metamorphosis of awareness, the tearing apart of the agnostic sheath around a desire to reach out to that realm where faith is met with evidence, where agnosticism gives way to belief and where the institutionalisation of that belief is kicked out of the picture to make way for the newness of a greater sense where the spirit is real and where the appreciation of reality is finally not limited to that which we see but to that which transcends what is obvious.

Investigate the outside to understand the inside, and observe the inside to know the outside. If we exist at all, we must be able to interconnect the interior with the exterior, the impressions with the expressions. We all know how to explain the properties from their entities, well we must be able to explain the entities from their properties.
