As long as the higher-up executives make powerful statements such as the above it surely pushes the information out into our society...it is imperative in order to stop it...

How do you know whether you are being brainwashed?
A parent tells the kid, when he/she was 3 years old, eating in the table needs some habits. Until then the kid would have been eating using both the hands, and would have spilled the food all over, but always had its stomach full. Today suddenly, dad says to eat in a different way. But the child doesn't ask any question, and starts practicing to the table manners. Now, why it just starts adapting? Because of the trust it had in its parents.
Even this can be termed as Brainwashing, from a perspective. But we don't. coz we all are doing the same to all our kids. So, when we all follow something globally, its right. But when new concept comes in, its seen with fear. And given a term brainwashing.
If there is trust then anything can be made out of the public. Whether it is used to exploit them or not can be determined only by the end receiver - the common man.
If the brainwashing is being debated only in the grounds of religion, then its again based on the individual. When there is no trust, there is no possibility of a human following certain things. But if there is trust, then anything can be made out of Him/ her.
But for a common man, it will take time to realize that all these concepts are not required to be followed in Life. Life for human is like a big house with so many doors. What happens is, he / she starts looking in one room and then another, and if a human likes something in a particular room, he / she stays there for sometime. Then when they come out of it and try opening the other they stay there again for some more time. This preferred stay is happening with all the humans - based on many aspects - as liking for money in one room, or liking of opposite sex in one room, liking of paintings in one room, liking of motor bikes in one room, Liking of religious aspects in a room, Spirituality in a room,etc etc.
When a man is finished seeing all the rooms and finally says that all these room is not what he /she is searching for - then he reaches the final state of life. Till then, in every room he / she is spending time, is brainwashing. If he / she is confident enough that nothing is required which is available in this house / world, then no brainwashing can happen.

Itīs a very interesting discussion between Tedjay and Everymansmedium. There are many truths. And itīs very good that such a discussion appeared on this Forum. The difference between being or not being brainwashed can be the difference between getting or not getting to the TOE.
Well, yes, we all are brainwashed by the group that raises us, and we go acquiring thinking on our own as we realize about it step by step. For the sake of conceptual clarity itīs important to establish a clear distinction between CONSCIENCE and IDEOLOGY. There is a lot of confusion in the use of the two words. We all have some IDEOLOGY which is A SYSTEM OF VALUES that rules our thinking and behavior. We are raised with it. CONSCIENCE, meanwhile, is A NATURAL PHENOMENON developed by the human species alone (or at least we think so) which is the capacity for symbolical communication. When a person faints, we say that he/she stays unconscious, whcih means the person loses capacity for (symbolical) communication. Human conscienceīs got two properties: MEMORY, which is the storage of information, and ASSOCIATION, which is the process of thinking.
When we realize that a person thinks in a different way to ours, we say he/she is "brainwashed". Itīs labelled as "ideology as false conscience" in some literature. I realize now how wrong and racist this expression is. Our ideology becomes richer when we enter in contact with other groups and cultures and try to understand their cosmovisions, we put our and other cosmovisions together in our head and thus reflect the world in a richer way that embraces more dimensions and makes us pay attention to different details. By proclaiming the "End of Ideologies" Fukuyama tried to impose ONE ideology as the only ALLOWED one and the Big Media are still at it. The "Freedom of Expression" is unfortunately a myth. And that is because that no freedom can come without responsibility. The responsibility of the capitalists is only with their interests, and that is personal wealth, not even banks or factories with workers that sustain it. The media focus peopleīs attention in what sells THEIR news. Want a proof? Whoīs the one of you who has heard anything about World Social Forum in Porto Alegre, Brazil? When it takes place it gathers about 100,000 people! And what is the reference to it in the First Worldīs media? "Wall Street Journal": "Bye-bye, Porto Alegre". Practically an invitation to bomb it.
What I expressed above is a show of my ideology and Iīm aware of it. And because of all of this I insist that despite huge steps in Physics that may bring us closer to the TOE, weīll never get there without including the Social Sciences into the Quest.

To a child, parents' know everything. When it is about something real and seen, it is not usually brainwashing. Advice to not go near the cliff can be seen to be true when the cliff is shown, but need not be if there is trust.
Advice to believe in the Moon God was also taken as true on trust, but was brainwashing, and this was perhaps not even known by the parents, for they had been brainwashed as children, too.
Trust is the point when you do an action. But to others it looks as brainwashing...
Even a parent who doesn't know the why a certain action is being done, do guide the child. Now, that is a pitiable situation. And not brainwashing. Only an individual can overcome his/her limitations.
