Thanks Mikal, but if you don't mind I would rather speak of myself for myself.
    I would say:
I am a person that wanted to know the truth.
Steared towards nature, I found what I was looking for.
I then studied the history of philisophy and physics to understand why we have so many questions still remaining, and how we think the way we do.
Man was unable like the great Socrates before us to define simplistically what truth is.
I found the solution to Einstein's quest for a unified field theory by simply reducing his most famous equation e=mc2.
And now I know that solution is the same as the soulution to TOE.
Not the theory of everything but rather the truth of everything.
= unites all things and is the truth that will set the universe free.
I like that description of myself better, and I hope you like it too.
= is truth and equal is me.

    =
    MJA
The truth of everything is less than one inch,
it is only equal and the lion is one.
One is free when the door is opened,
    education has the key.

Re: Cultural Complexities Affecting Childhood Development

    hi Mikal and all

I have pondered in study of a cultural event for many years. Two actually as one was made model for the other. As the event is unfolding exponent in society with no end but possible the human race extinct as a factor on the earth it should be revisited by me here.

In the seventies a variation of Herpes reared its head to be transmittable near all the time by sexual relations and when the infected knew he was in a state to transmit which was not all the time. Using the rates of infected as my model which would give the low end of a different type of infection that was 100% transmittable by a male to a woman and 50% of the time to a man from a woman, I was able to note different stages reported in infection rates to check my model over those thirty years now.

the result is that there are over 45000000 dead and at least that many as of five years ago infected alive going to die in the next ten years with an increase of infected exponent calculable as ... more then there are alive today.

the secondary factor is that the nature of this virus is such that it is a retro virus having the capability by treatment solutions being given the 99.9999999998 terminal infected ... to change into a stronger viral form that like a more common retro virus the cold virus family will predictable become airborne capable in less then ten years able to live under harsher conditions it needs now to survive (eg a host human).

Some reported form it has changed to was so strong in able to reproduce itself it killed off the original male and 11, 12 and 9 females in three different locals by three different host males in just months after the female was infected. At the present time I believe it is a cultural issue of majority form drug users, homosexuals and the poor and the non poor having loose moral foundation but as the virus becomes more transmittable out of these areas it will be not just a cultural containment but a world wide event in all lives.

We can be guaranteed the event going to that stage by the vary nature of the infected that will help the virus to change if not by natural mutation by the way the infected go off and on there drug regiment and use of the drugs causing postponement of death and there feeling of being able to have safe sex for the example ... and i do not need to hear replays that not all are like this. It all started with one and that is all it needs.

There is then with thus said only one solution and that is mandatory testing and zero tolerance in it being able to spread or change. Yet this is not promoted thought to children reaching puberty as is need in the extreme and the hell with civil rights .. this is world wide extinction factor.

just a ponder ~regards all Graham

oh PS it is the AIDs virus called HIV if you did not guess. g

Re: Cultural Complexities Affecting Childhood Development

Graham...what an exceptionally interesting study...I noted your attention to prevalence in a group I will term "lifestyles" marked by economic disadvantage and class disadvantage. I agree with Paulo Freire that a class system in society is dangerous to human civilization and the well-being of the society as a collective.

Now I will take homosexuality out of the lifestyle term because I have done enough personal research with the subject matters to know it seems more a "human state" one finds themself struggling with rather than a choice in life, although I have had homosexuals point out to me that they are not the ones in parades on gay pride day. They tell me those lives are people involved in "sexual experimentation" and are pushing a movement for freedom of sexual expression.

I also noted your attention to "loose moral foundation" which of course has worsened in society since the breakdown of such realities such as family structure, male/female relationship, collapse of traditional value system and even collapse of "God" idea. However I feel that it is inner moral development impaired here because society culturing rather than sociolizing has interrupted and impaired possible cognitive development within consciousness which allows for higher inner moral development.

As a collective we seem to be very good at exposing social issues but action on the issues is rather slow going because we always insist on pushing issues through long, beauracratic loops of red tape so very little actually is attended too. I do agree with you that "children reaching puberty" in a society mirroring sexual freedom leaves them highly vulnerable to the "virus world" they know little about.

Do you have any ideas as to ways and means to bring issue to the forefront of society???

In such be a forum there was no intent to bring lifestyle a factor other then to containment a group of transmitters effecting the curve rate of model. One can vary lifestyle or not and that is not an issue meant in my post other then noting by being an effect to certain culture factors within society the whole of society has not seen the full effect. You are putting words in my mouth it would seem that such are not my thought or my lack of clarity required.

In Africa they have a hwy north and south across the continent similar to our own trans Canada Hy 1 ... Think of the number of cities and people living along this hy 1 and picture as in Africa the model no one left alive between the ages of 12 and 65 ... If I remember correctly there are economic lack now where the country has only 25% of a normal workforce available to them ... social identity by the individual usually consists of an immediate group of associations that may reach 100 people, beyond that there is very rare identity manifest with the whole of a community, town, city or province or county or continent or world to be able to comprehend the effect.

The only organized form of education will have to come from mandatory testing, explained why on a platform of social need to control and eradicate the virus .. in full recognition that the only way to eradicate it will be the result of the host being no longer alive.

The opponents to mandatory testing in petty egos and small identity other then the whole of the human race worried about discriminatory laws preventing discrimination, not being used the argument can not be bowed to in act of terrorism manifest. I know these are strong words for a strong problem effecting the whole. what i am saying is that any person who has aids and is against the idea of mandatory testing is not concerned with the rest of society or the world as a whole human race.

the second factor of controlling the viral infection from mutation needs has to be dispersement of meads that extend the life of those infected by dispersement with proof they are taken, similar to methadone dispersement going on where it is taken in front of a dispenser.

The data base in a search of a name for partnership only must be available, by mutual consent of access. Failure to use it and then getting infected afterward is a crime against the social enactments therefore against the survival of the whole. Cuba has such penalties enacted to containment of effected in humane manner that include the scenario above the cause. This is not a cancer or some other that can not be stopped by such controls, it is not as the infected would try to dissuade by saying it is common and just a fact of life to live with in society with just common place promoted ..it will kill us or not and the not is getting to be important more and more by such advocation as above posted despite the flack expected from this.

The sooner the controls are put in place the less they will suffer.
I will continue on this later if the interest is there.

Re: Cultural Complexities Affecting Childhood Development

Haven't fully explored what your saying... Just a quick reply

My mother is a twin. Her brother died of AIDS in 1991. Our family came from Europe via boat and passed through Ellis Island. We settled in a tiny community mostly of miners and farmers. I don't need to tell of the shock and horror of AIDS in our perfect little village. People here don't communicate honestly or openly about anything important. Learning more about it had to come from my initiative and thankfully enough people were willing to talk about it.

My mother took care of her brother when his own mother couldn't bring herself to even visit him, to hide in shame. It has been said that he received a bad blood trasnfusion, but no one tells the truth, so I'm not sure, possibly...even likely...yet my family hides from truth.

Recently, a relative called imigration on his illegal wife and got her sent back to Mexico. I got really upset at the casual nature of gossip surrounding this. And nobody could understand why I was upset.... They said nothing of how the children would be left to handle this... only reveled in the 'light' of someone elses *-up.

I don't know what to do. I don't know how to help anyone/everybody. I don't know anything, only what I think I know. Where does one start, because there seems to be no end.

Re: Cultural Complexities Affecting Childhood Development

Hi Val....I am familiar with the Aids dilemma. Have two young nephews who as far as I can tell were born homosexual, they are both extremely feminine in manner so almost like female trapped in a male body. The younger one contacted aids ten years ago. It was a huge battle for him with his own mortality, as he faced this fatal disease. He decided that he would not take the Aids drugs but would survive strictly from faith that he would not leave this earth until God chose to take him. He knows the responsibility that goes with the disease and after 10 years with the disease is still well, working and living his life as fully as he can. There is no shame for me in this, I love both my nephews no differently than any of the others.

I understand your mom's brother's mother. I had a terrible time with my sister as she faced that two of her children were homosexual. She suffered through so much that I had to make sure she made it as she bounced around in some pretty down states. I eventually got her to realize that her son's were her son's and everything she loved about them so they could not be defined in life as purely from their sexuality. I did encourage her to study the phenomena of homosexuality as it became more prevalent with more people refusing to hide any longer.

I sympathize with your feelings about those who carry out small actions in life without regard or sensitivity to the plight of any children involved in the situation. Also the fact that a mother has been separated from her children which in my opinion should never happen.

How do we help when we feel overwhelmed? I guess we could say there are too many social problems and not enough of us to help fix them so I never turn my listening ear away from anyone hurting and I always try to encourage people to help themself, I supply people with lists as to where help is available and I try to empower people. Over and above that, its important to have a healthy boundary from the feeling one must hold up the world...so I pray...it works...

Thanks for sharing Val and remember a good cry is healthy....

    TY for the post.

Rumor is the many headed dragon. Rural living is a real breeding ground for viral infections as of the travel factor of those in it and those out coming through having a secret to a meet available to the curious and the ones who just do want to carry on out of there community and also the a rate of infection due to sharing it with a wife or husband and this manifested even more in Africa where army personal on duty brought it back from afar in remote use of prostitutes and rape of those they won over in effected areas.
As the news link provided there is no numbers really known. I will stand by my numbers and predictions. There is no end ... event the US white house can not introduce acts to stop it because they have the civil rights act and no faith in rule of law being applied. Not to sound like a flamer here but the full extent is not known or even perceived but by a few and it is not enough.

It should be a platform of election but then who is going to yell the loudest?

Right the infected ... the stigma is to great to have mandatory testing they will yell ... and the bean counters will be a way out to just let everyone die reaching a point of no return and it gets airborne ... we live in interesting times. G

Graham....dear, not putting words in your mouth, just aware that many people visit as guests and read on the TOE, even my nephew who as born a homosexual and afflicted with Aids, comes on here to search for his own answers in his life. For all those, I wished to be sensitive to their insistence that the state is not a lifestyle. Sorry if I offended you there bro....smiles

Here in Kingston, when you are diagnosed with the disease your name goes into a registry. It is also impressed upon those afflicted that they have a huge responsibility to not spread the disease. My nephew for example makes himself readily available in the gay community impressing upon everyone the necessity to have medical checkups and to be responsible for the disease if afflicted. There is no mandatory testing here either and my nephew informed me that those without the disease fear stigmatization and also fear that they can contact the disease from needles in a health system basically falling apart at the seams. Lack of funding and lack of doctors and nurses hurts everyone I fear. My nephew who has the disease also believes there should be mandatory testing because he would have known much sooner than he did that he had contacted the disease, he just thought he had an infection in his system which kept giving him numerous small illness's.

I used your link you supplied and was truly amazed at the stated statistics, as news of the Aids Epidemic has more or less fallen from the priority of the press and the media. What seems to come to the forefront now is the epidemic of Aids in Africa which may have some folks living in a fools paradise without fully realizing the extent of the true statistics.

    Thanks for info....

    Mikal
