Mikal replied fine to you. My post was my own opinion of your continuing antics.

Now you can say "It's not worth it" and not discuss thread content or get madder still if it dares to disagree with your TOE.

don't worry i wont get madder LOL as much as you would revel in that.

i'm past all this semantic mud slinging you keep throwing at me.

mikal replied fine to me yes she did, and i left it at that.

but NO .... austin powers has to come to the rescue every time a coconut.

Yep i agree with Robert too.

austin you are in this mess too, so don't keep pinning it on me.

i asked you to leave me alone on the other thread, but you just can't do it can you?

you have to keep digging away.

funny how i've never had any problems with other members on this forum.

I guess you really enjoy getting down and dirty with me, because it takes two to tango matey boy.

Why do you assume i get mad about people disagreeing with my posts??

Where have you got these ideas?

You have fabricated these ideas out of your own mind.

They have come from you, and you are projecting them onto me.

I don't give a flying monkey if people disagree with my posts.

Thank you Michael....I feel this is a reasonable thread holding the potential for serious discussion and debate concerning numerous social issues I am aware of. In the beginning of the thread I ask for thoughts, comments and invited debate...I certainly did not invite the attack going on here nor did I instigate it but was in serious dialogue with Austin and Graham...

The Ballad of Kirkpatrick
(or michael in the toe)
Stanza IV

There are those that walk in hallowed halls
With slow shuffled step
Peeking into rooms and leaning on the walls
Of contemplation and ponder such

Seeing words hung in air at times
To read at ones desire
As in room to room he peeks to curiosity and mystery
Not knowing what he seeks

Some rooms full take a while
Some rooms empty take longer in the look
Then there is what might be wanted found
However, sure, what is “not wanted” be also found

To so behold and rasp the soul
with grating tounge in cheek the dole
Thus then be great to smiling purpose not forlorn
As mighty pen reveal itself in open robed the form’

The hanging foul and putrid stench to ears
Sulphuric fumes that burn the eye with puss released to sear
Expanding ballooning for end demand, less die?
Not laughing cut, sliced and pricked with pen as master do

To further shuffle more again throughout the halls
Hallowed! be those halls and endless walls
as heard his mumbled Lowe
in shuffled feet so slow.

Re: Cultural Complexities Affecting Childhood Development

The key to some complexities may be to go to the root of them mikal as you say the family unit.

The term is used by those that would do evil and after many years the reason for the success rate of this use is not taken over for good. So strange. Gang Bangers rely on new recruits from despondency single parent homes (or some hard to cal parent) with poverty, race issues. The gang family offers a group gestalt existence to be functional survivor state in society ... true this is a bad function from our perspective but not from the platform they stand on having no other place, excuse the pun, to stand on ... at least to perceived option.

Why not use the despondent state to address the lost to a different kind of family is what i am saying .. the root of the dysfunction is money yet with example after example the cure of cooperation in grouping and thus said it becomes direction needed.

Group finances, group living, group investment, seed money for group projects of research and development of business venture ... but the direction is legal and being such to the young mother or ex con or any through the system the option will be looked at if real ... research womans investment groups and see what i mean as they teach saving and investment portfolio management in weakly meeting and started from nothing to ends you will see in search ... very good ones. just a thought to what is not being done more. ~ smiling Graham

Re: Cultural Complexities Affecting Childhood Development

Hi Graham....the disadvantaged family unit is in a functional survivor state in society. This is a fact and one of the roots is that psychological psychobabble is piled miles high in gestalt theories, behavior modification info, parenting skills info etc. that parents have lost their confidence in realizing that being a parent is a learning, growing experience every step of the way. There is so much information overload which has its own covert purpose it overwhelms their capacity to assimilate it and it takes up so much of their attention they forget to just be parents and allow their children to just be children. Their state of inferiority is driven home to them by all the social institutions we have built in our society.

How is the middle-class family doing? They have a unique set of problems. Not being disadvantaged but still meeting the accusation of labelling, insistences to drug child, too much attention paid to behavior, not enough learning going on. They can function from a platform to battle their children's problems, they can afford lawyers, they have better verbal skills to defend their children and fight their battles right up to the attention of the superintendant of education.

How am I helping? Twenty-five years of research to find all the points where society began to change its base from being a family-based society to a society rising from the base of psychology, psychiatry, medical wellness and all this pharmecuetically driven.
With the history recorded its a lesson in sociology and the understanding of the society they are in, that is empowering them. Gotta understand all the roots to know where we are all standing right now...

Your above suggestions I would like to ponder on...its how I derive some pretty profound ideas to work with so thank you for taking the time to post them and also for taking our social issues seriously...any futher ideas that come to you please deposit them here, am immensely grateful for your interest....

Re: Cultural Complexities Affecting Childhood Development

It seems that learning is still the best way, such as Life 101-399 courses.

Learning grows dendrites of brain neurons connecting and then touching thousands of others; although it is as slow process, it is a sure process. Imagine this permanent rewiring taking place from bad learning—it's almost scary to think about, for it is triple hard to undo learning.

We are also beings that are indeed the very nature of a chemical drug brain factory, but too many drugs now hit too many similar brain receptors, causing many side effects; however, in some cases some people may still wish to gain peace at the lesser expense of no libido or trouble with sleep.

Serotonin, for example, has 11 types of receptors, but no antidepressant can yet hit on just the one that needed to boost mood back to normal.
