    Imagine there's no country
    · It really is just so, not so hard to do
An end to overfed lawyers, politicians and bankers
(not to your friends, language, countryside, geography or weather)

    - one can bet that the lawyer won't much enjoy having their income reduced -
    - and will
as a parting gift (driven by selfishness)
    - ensure
    that
rather than opening themselves up to the possibility of earning less than others -
    that
    (as a parting gift)
    - a one~wage system will be introduced

    - that they'll introduce a one~wage system as parting act of selfishness
    to
    turn
    good

    - the selfish lawyer will smile realising that they've evaded the prospect of being wor$e off than others -
    - though will ... ... later ... ... realise (when they get better ... ...(eventually)... ...) that money was never important -

    - that their measure of importance wasn't
    - and that unless they retrain
    - lawyers as (as they've always been)

    a net drain on society.

... that money was never important -
and that their problems (in marked contrast) as just beginning.

    Re: Saturday Night Rules!

My Saturday went well. New technology at the store greatly facilitated our burdensome workload, as I have some experience with the equipment from another venue.

Tonight, I teach Sunday School, it being my privelege to share this new technology with others, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to empower others. As Timeparticle mentions in his 'Help' thread, we seem to have a natural response to aid others, and such aid triggers a 'warm fuzzy' in most of us.

Also being Sunday, I thought I would share a song that, to me, is one of the all-time classic Sunday songs, no matter what one claims as their personal inspiration.

    The Kelly Family and .....

    Absolutely agree -
    - post-war (capitalism) social re-construction.

    - we need to work out a reason for getting out of bed in the morning -
    - a reason which reconciles the nature of lives as a game and yet as a game -
    - as a game which *actually* *1* matters ... ...

    *1* pain hurts

'help' (ref TimeParticle) (ps Money is Debt II is out) gets us there -
    - perhaps the honest basis to capitalism before it went so badly wrong
when human greed was allowed (as it always does)
    - to suggest amendments to the scheme

capitalism was meant to represent a mechanism for increasing the efficiency of 'help'
    - became any(and every)thing but
when human greed was allowed (as it always does)
    - to suggest amendments to the scheme

    - the repetitive pattern (in human history) of repression being overcome to yield (in time) -
    a repressive regime
    (which is, in turn overturned)
when human greed allowed (as it always does)
    (through the back door)
    - to suggest amendments to the scheme.

Human greed is the basis to the Institutions which man sets in place going 'pear-shaped'

    - the most intractable (difficult to supplant) human Institution -
the final Institution to be removed (replaced)
prior to paradise on Earth being revealed

will be seen to be the various legal systems which are to be found on the planet -

    - these various legal systems hold the corruption in place -
    - prevent us from getting better

The lawyer expresses the God delusion
    - justice isn't to be found in precedent
(in fact quite the opposite) -
unthinking dogma (the easy option) is to be found in precedent

    - just because it states that 'pigs can fly' on page 5 paragraph 4 subsection 3 line 2 words 1-3 doesn't mean that pigs can fly -
    does it?
The precedent was laid down by a lawyer looking out through the window from his first class seat on a Boeing 747 - enshrined in law, when he happened to note a pig (which had somehow wandered onto the wing of his plane)
    falling off
    - soon after -
landing on some unfortunate chap below -
    - that unfortunate chap below subsequently hiring (what are the chances?) the previously high flying lawyer
( times were hard and his multinational corporation clientele weren't able to pay the usual 6 zero retainers he demanded to keep his personal jet in service)
    - that lawyer who was a little more subsequently seen to be responsible for enshrining this landmark case into statute on page 5 paragraph 4 subsection 3 line 2 words 1-3
    - enshrining into our legal system that indeed yes
    - 'pigs can fly'.

Basing morality on precedent represents a blind, unthinking dogmatic approach to justice -
    - and does not work.

    Suggestion

As we become better (ref ~proper education~) -
    - to replace law courts with tribunals where people represent their side for themselves and a group of ordinary people decide what's fair.
No vested interest (only $elf-interested) of lawyers and judges,
    No jargon -
    - people don't live their lives in a world of legal jargon -
    - so why expect people who don't live in a world of legal jargon to be governed by a set of rules written in impenetrably cryptic language?
    - would one ever expect a non-French speaker to attend only (neither subtitled nor dubbed) French movies and prevented from attending films in English?

As we become better (ref ~proper education~) -
    - to replace law courts with tribunals where people represent their side for themselves and a group of ordinary people decide what's fair -
    - where legal precedent carries no weight -
    - where what's generally (by normal people) considered as fair is accepted as right.

    - imagine forcing a fungus to behave like a bacteria
    - just wouldn't work, (different needs) would it?
    - enforcing lower (below the fungus) ideals -
    - preventing the fungus from realising latent aspiration.
    - and that m'lud is your law.

Parallels to the battle in science between the empirical approach (precedent) and the logical model -
    - which the model has now won
    - has now won as the highest (most thorough) basis to achieving holistic (of our reality and beyond) scientific understanding.

    - when we're ready to dispense with legal bureaucracy
    - we'll be ready to move on.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Globalism
point 3. The idea of "harmonizing" national laws into and under a global body of law.
prior to dispensing with law -
    - ~true morality~ does not require bureaucrat.

    Re: Saturday Night Rules!

A lively little song by an all female band.
Especially for the fellas, and appropriate for my Monday shift, also the end of my work week, where I start 1/2 hour earlier than the other nights, and it's amazing how a mere 1/2 hour can scatter my routine, lol.....

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s48kuKLf0mE&feature=fvw

    Just Another Manic Monday

    Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
    I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream

    But I can't be late
'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid
    These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

    It's just another manic Monday
    I wish it were Sunday
    'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
    It's just another manic Monday

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn't make it on time

'Cause it takes me so long
Just to figure out what I'm gonna wear
    Blame it on the train
But the boss is already there

    It's just another manic Monday
    I wish it were Sunday
    'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
    It's just another manic Monday

    All of the nights
Why did my lover have to pick last night
    To get down
    Doesn't it matter
That I have to feed the both of us
    Employment's down

He tells me in his bedroom voice
C'mon honey, let's go make some noise
    Time it goes so fast
    When you're having fun

    It's just another manic Monday
    I wish it were Sunday
    'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
    It's just another manic Monday
    I wish it was Sunday
    'Cause that's my funday
    It's just another manic Monday

    Re: Saturday Night Rules!

(Perhaps most of us were born on a Saturday, as per the attributes listed in the following poem...)

    Tuesdays Child

    Traditional poem - Tuesdays child

The words of Tuesdays child poem were used to introduce a child to the order and names of the various days of week. The 'Sabbath day' in the religion of Christianity is always a Sunday. This is the only reference to history for the origin of Tuesdays child. The poem Tuesdays child is otherwise known as Mondays child however as this is not repeated as much as other nursery rhymes are the attribute of Tuesdays child is often forgotten!

" Tuesdays child is full of grace"

Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

    Re: Saturday Night Rules!

    Folklore

In some cultures, Friday is considered unlucky. This is particularly so in maritime circles; perhaps the most enduring sailing superstition is that it is unlucky to begin a voyage on a Friday. In the 19th century Admiral William Henry Smyth, writing in his nautical lexicon The Sailor's Word-Book, described Friday as

“ The Dies Infaustus, on which old seamen were desirous of not getting under weigh, as ill-omened.”

(Dies Infaustus means "unlucky day".) This superstition is the root of the well-known urban legend of HMS Friday.

However, this superstition is not universal, notably in Scottish Gaelic culture:

"Though Friday has always been held an unlucky day in many Christian countries, still in the Hebrides it is supposed that it is a lucky day for sowing the seed. Good Friday in particular is a favourite day for potato planting—even strict Roman Catholics make a point of planting a bucketful on that day. Probably the idea is that as the Resurrection followed the Crucifixion, and Burial so too in the case of the seed, and after death will come life."

In modern times, Friday the 13th is considered to be especially unlucky, due to the conjunction of Friday with the unlucky number thirteen.

In astrology Friday is connected with the planet Venus. It is also connected with the Astrological signs Libra and Taurus.

    Re: Saturday Night Rules!

It being the weekend yet again, t'would seem that many posters are otherwise occupied. I found this list of "Saturday activities" to be quite interesting, especially with some of the geographical references. LW

    Activities
Saturday is the official day of rest in Israel, on which all government offices and most businesses, including some public transportation, are closed .

Saturday is the usual day for elections in Australia and the only day in New Zealand on which elections can be held, and also the preferred election day in the US state of Louisiana.

In many countries where Sundays are holidays, Saturday is part of the weekend, and is traditionally a day of relaxation.

Saturday morning is a notable television time block aimed at children while airing generally animated cartoons.

It is common for clubs, bars and restaurants to be open later on Saturday night than on other nights. Thus "Saturday Night" has come to imply the party scene, and has lent its name to the films Saturday Night Fever, which showcased New York discotheques, Uptown Saturday Night, as well as many songs (see below).

Saturday night is also a popular time slot for comedy shows on television. The most famous of these is Saturday Night Live, a skit show that has aired on NBC nearly every week since 1975. Other notable examples include Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell. This practise lent its name to the film Mr. Saturday Night, starring Billy Crystal.

In folklore, Saturday was the preferred day to hunt vampires, because on that day they were restricted to their coffins. It was also believed in the Balkans that someone born on Saturday could see a vampire when it was otherwise invisible, and that such people were particularly apt to become vampire hunters. Accordingly, in this context, people born on Saturday were specially designated as sabbatianoí in Greek and sâbotnichavi in Bulgarian; the term has been rendered in English as "Sabbatarians".

The amount of criminal activities that take place on Saturday nights has led to the expression, "Saturday night special" a pejorative slang term used in the United States and Canada for any inexpensive handgun.

The Australian Football League Grand Final is traditionally held on the last Saturday in September. Saturday afternoon (2:10pm) is also the traditional timeslot for an Australian Rules football match, although modern television schedules and other factors mean there are now many other timeslots in which games are played as well as on Saturday afternoons.
A large majority of football league games are played in the UK on a Saturday.

In Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada the Holiday 'Good Saturday' is celebrated by everybody giving a cake to each other
