    Hello SB__UK,

Very insightful comments on the imagery of Scorpio. Celtic knotwork and imagery is also visually pleasing to me and I suspect that while it is the colour and image that first attracts my interest, that I may be responding to the image on a deeper plane.

    Here is one such example:

    Friday I'm In Love

When I head off to work tonight, it will be Friday's shift, a little hard, it seems for 'Daysiders' to get their head around, as most are not accustomed to using the 24 hour clock.

I bet this is a redundant post on this thread, but just in case it was missed:

    Re: Saturday Night Rules!

Okay. It's presently Thursday night, soon to be early Friday a.m., which is then considered Friday's graveyard shift. It is also my first shift back after my days off and so in the lingo of night crew, it is 'my Monday', as the first shift is always the toughest to get back into the midnight groove.

    Confused yet? Most people are.

Time takes on a totally different (lack of) meaning for people who work extended graveyard shift.

Our circadian rhythms actually begin to float and our energy levels peak at different times of the day than the majority of the people who work the traditional 9-5, Mon-Fri. This can make communication difficult, as we truly are not on the same 'wavelength.' We see your lips moving but your words are not relevant. Likewise when we speak to others, we observe polite listening but comprehension does not reflect from the eyes.

Our worlds are that different much of the time.

Additionally, we are often the ones who work weekends and holidays to allow others in society to enjoy this time with family and friends. It's not that we don't have family and friends. Either we prefer them in small doses or they have accommodated our scheduling choice and we do occasional breakfasts together instead of family dinners.

It's unique and rewarding in it's own way, burning the midnight oil. Generally the pay is a bit better and there's less competition for your job.

Yes, it takes fools like us to keep wheels of the economy and society in general, lubricated and moving forward.

    Re: Saturday Night Rules!

I am well aware that there are still serious economic deficiencies in much of North America and that unemployment is a real and present concern for many people and companies in this increasingly competitive free market (in large part) economy. For the past five years and the foreseeable future, lack of employment does not appear to be in my cards.

Customers, bless their little hearts, add to my job security, making more work by such means as playing 'hide and seek' with products that they pick up and then decide to set down.......anywhere. It is a matter of course that I return these 'orphans' to their proper aspect, in the course of my duties.

The schools are seriously failing us if customers need to break into a case of a product when the singles are a mere three feet farther over. Perhaps it's glasses they need?

Ah well, I'm paid by the hour, and all the activity means that I do not need to pay for membership at a gym, although the cost of damaged goods and extraneous labor eventually comes back around to the perpetrator, and sadly, all of our respectful customers end up paying for these costs as well.

Last night was a busy one, solving mysteries and picking up after the hungry hordes, lol.... Driving in to work, I caught the tail end of Randy Bachman's radio program on CBC, Vinyl Tap, and he had some good tunes going, so we tackled the night buoyed with the energy of the following......

    Re: Saturday Night Rules!

'Have a nice weekend' is always a chuckle to me, as people assume that everyone has Saturday and Sunday off, so 'normal' is a Monday to Friday schedule in the minds of most.

Working weekends suits me fine at the present, and tonight is Saturday shift by the 24 hour clock, another scheduling detail that confuses people when one attempts to communicate one's hours of employ and explain why recreation time is difficult to co-ordinate with others.

Tonight after labels are done, I'll be 'flogging product' as we jokingly refer to stocking the shelves. The grocery floor is all of the 'non-perishable food' and staples, and the irony of the matter is that there is a rather short list of purchases that I make from NPF, as I do most of my shopping in the fresh food departments. Still, it is good to have a pantry supply of staples, in the event of emergency or even routine operational difficulties.

Easy food is always my preference, so my first meal upon awaking was quickly sourced and prepared as follows:

    8 large red grapes, halved
    8 large green grapes, halved.
1 large banana, thinly sliced rounds
    1/4 cup walnut pieces
1/2 cup sliced strawberries in light syrup (previously frozen and thawed)
1/2 cup Balkan style yogurt (skim milk, cream, bacterial culture)

The yogurt and strawberries in syrup combine to make a delicious topping for the rest of the ingredients which can vary according to season. Walnuts provide an extra boost of protein which complements the fast digestion of the fruit sugars and the yogurt, providing one with lots of energy without the feeling of a sluggish digestion.

Mission time........trying to stay ahead of the hungry hordes, lol.....
