I'm guessing that the orange male in the center is your 'Alpha Cat'.
The dark calico female is quite confident and comfortable, and is the white one male or female?

All your guesses are correct. The white one is positively a tom.
Time independence: [∂E(g)]²=[∂F(a)×∂r(a)]·[∂F(b)×∂r(b)] and Mass independence: ¶a(t)·¶r(t)=c²
The calico female has the edge on him then, as Alpha cat seems quite tolerant of her in his personal space. Without his presence, she would likely drop to below the white male. They all seem quite robust and it would take considerably more observation to sort out the pecking order of the others, though I'm sure such is quite plain to you from the time you have spent in watching them over two months.

I probably need a very sensitive scale that can weighs fractions of an ounce. This is the same problem that scientists try to find the mass of an electron as the unit of electricity. The conventional wisdom is that all electrons have the same mass but can vary widely in their individual energy content depending upon each singular motion or interaction.

Are you still determined, then, to name them in succession of weight, at a stage of rapid growth in their life? Where did you get such a notion? From the Atomic Weight Table?
Naming is a rather serious undertaking in some cultures, as the name given to a person or creature is often the name they wear for their entire life.
In naming my creatures, I do start with a list of names, yet most often, in the watching, they will name themselves, if one takes the time to listen with one's mind and heart. But that is my way of doing things, and I am certain there are many others....

In light of the gravity of the naming problem, the word 'gravity' lighten the way. The bathroom scale I have only calibrated in the increment of 1 pound. But those scales calibrated in 16th of a lb found in supermarkets would be ideal but I'm not planning on buying one.To be fair, I have to make them fast for a day or two before I weigh them all at the same time. This can be done at any stages of their growth cycle.

How fares the weighing and naming of the kittens?
In regards to peer interaction, the young female we adopted last year is ever so persistently encroaching on the domain of the aging male cat, although when she pushes him too far, she is the one with fresh wounds, not that such deters her from her efforts.
Each cat has several dishes of dry cat food, as they have different preferences in brand and texture, and my husband caters to their likes/dislikes. (I would have one good brand and two dishes, lol. Like it or go hunt.) He also buys them 10% Half and Half Cream, and canned tuna.
The old male was out of his preferred kibble until Michael got home from work today, cat supplies being his responsibility while the horse's needs are mine. This time, I catered to the cat, as I had the cat prior to acquiring the husband, so I spooned him some tuna out of the container in the fridge.
One tablespoon tuna, and one tablespoon of the broth it comes packed in, heated on a saucer in the microwave for 7 seconds.
Darth (the cat) was impressed. He cleaned the plate and stood on it with one paw while he licked it clean.
Meanwhile, the cute and pushy little female likes to claim my computer chair. The husband offered to buy me a new one, lol, but I saw none that I liked, and besides there is no room for one more office chair.
As I tried to explain to him, the issue was not about the chair. It is about location, and the female would attempt to lay claim to any chair as it is the placement which pleases her. The little fur ball is welcome to the chair when it is not in use, and she will either move or be moved when I have need of it.
No problem at all, lol.......

I haven't found a scale that weighs fractions of an ounce. But I notice that the toms are getting skinnier and the queens more plump although I feed them the same type of food, a mix of dry and canned food. I think there are more toms than I originally guess. The landlord was here the other night and want the kittens out of the house. I desperately want my own place but still can't afford it. I don't know what to do, been seeing sad news about animal cruelty in the newspaper and internet, all victims were cats.Originally Posted by labelwench

I empathize with your quandary, Antonio, and likewise that of your landlord. Few rental properties even in Whitehorse are welcoming of cats or dogs, so the problem of accommodation continues.
One can relinquish their charges to an animal shelter, but one must understand that they can only keep the animals for a specified length of time.
Darth was brought to me by a friend who worked at our local shelter, as his number was up the next day. He was a feral kitten, born under a porch, and wild as a March hare. I really did not want or need a cat, but somehow, it has all worked out.
Unfortunately, I have no brilliant suggestions to offer.
