    perfect information game theory

chess playing is a good example of a perfect information game theory. Unlike poker and bridge, chess players do not hold secrets between each other. Chess is also classified as a two-person zero-sum game, somebody wins and somebody loses. Emotions do not play a significant role. But for nonzero-sum games, for example business competition within a volatile market, emotions play out a key role. Nonzero-sum games can involve three or more players and losses and gains do not approach an equilibrium point. The ideal nonzero-sum games are when all players win. In searching for TOE, it must be compared to a nonzero sum game where in the end everybody benefited, now and forever, from it discovery.

When you say benifited what do you mean.
Do you mean that we will gain the power to live forever or do you mean something else.

    Please explain.

    Trom,
I'm fairly sure that when Antonio said "benifited", he meant that, we all gain something(knowledge in particular), even though we cannot come to an agreement on the TOE.

We have disputes (especially with me and dave) on this site, and at the end one of us losses (metaphorically speaking), but we all gain that extra bit of knowledge and can expand our thinking from there.

And if you are still confused, I hope this will set things right.

This post is almost a year old. I think what I meant is the power for complete understanding of everything including the reason why we need to die after we are born as life in a semi-infinite universe toward positive infinity with no knowledge of what negative infinity to the time we were born. If we understand why we die and the cause of death then we can try to find a way of avoiding the onset of death.

It seems to me that chess is really a partial information game, in actuality. If a player is experienced, they will "see more information" than the novice player. The information is available to the novice player in theory, but not in practice.

It is similar to adding numbers- someone very good at adding numbers will be able to add them rapidly, someone poor will only be able to add a couple then lose track. The "information is available" but not really.

Similar to the toe- once it is understood, it is doubtful that most people will be "master TOE theoriest" and thus only a bit of its implication will be understandable. Think of general relativity, and the ability of others to understand it.

    what is general relativity?

I must admit that I still don't understand completely the truth about general relativity, the same for quantum mechanics and quantum field theories. Yet I'm trying to work out a theory which could possibly avoid all of them.

I feel like I might have understood general relativity for about a week, but now I don't feel like I understand it truly. Perhaps before I was just fooling myself. (I took a class which included general relativity, and at the time I felt like I truly understood it.. but perhaps not).

Smile theme of life is not without strife!

To play the game of life is to understand its rules.Andthis I feel takes many
lifetimes, through trial and error and mixed endevour,we come to see that
alignment and harmony are ways to avoid pain,we see that there are natural
laws, and the more we can be in tune with them, the less resistance we meet,
and the game is more enjoyable?

I don't think when Einstein wrote the GTR, his intentions were to make people understand his model completely. Instead, he perhaps wanted other people to come to a realisation of a new era of hope in physics and continue his work to produce the final pruduct.

How can chess be a zero-sum game? Somebody may win the other will lose. But what happens when it is a tie?? Do they add a point to them selfs?
