| the TOE and sexual dimorphism -

I want to say that there may be a lose inverse connection between species' intelligence and sexual dimorphism. Sexual dimorphism is a term that refers to the differences between male and female. Some species, like black widows, have males that are radically different than the females, and so they have a high degree of sexual dimorphism.
Humans, on the other hand, have a relatively low degree of sexual dimorphism, thus males are relatively similar in makeup to females. I think that low sexual dimorphism may be a common characteristic that all intelligent species would have to evolve. This doesn't mean that all species that evolve this way are intelligent, because snakes aren't sexually dimorphic, and we all know that snakes aren't highly intelligent either, at least we don't think they are. But for a species to become highly intelligent, it would be most likely that they would evolve to be sexually non-dimorphic.
If you think this sounds logical so far, then think about this. For somebody to develop the TOE, the epitome of intelligence, they would have to be the epitome of low sexual dimorphism. In other words, the creator of the TOE would have to be, shall we say, sexually well blended, someone with qualities of both sexes. Perhaps this would maniphest itself as a chromosomal abnormality. This way they could have all the pros of the way males think and the way females think with none of the cons in order to uncover the greatest truth. Females are more intuitive and males are more... help me out here... I can't remember but it's something to do with problem solving like math and stuff
Anyways, do you guys/girls agree or disagree? |
