Hydrogen - 05-02-2005, 05:48 PM

I really didn't know were to put this thread, but I thought this was the best.

I want to discuss about the element known as Hydrogen: what you think about it, what is it's importance to the universe, it's usefullness in fuels.....All leading to what must a TOE say about hydrogen?

I know, for example, that:

hydrogen is two thirds of water, which is the basic thing for life
that hydrogen is 75% of the mass in the universe
that hydrogen is 90% of amount of molecules in the universe
it is a renewable energy
etz........

what should it have to do in a TOE?
Why did the BB end up in these big percentages of hydrogen in the universe?
why is hydrogen different to ALL the other elements? and appart in the periodic table?..............

a detailed primer on hydrogen at

http://education.jlab.org/itselemental/ele001.html

and also check the site at virtual chaos.org

i should have some more info about hydrogen later

sincerely,
yogi

Guille;
Hydrogen is a fascinating element. What do you get when you cause hydrogen to become a solid?

What are you referring to at the end of your posts?

But first, solve this: http://www.toequest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=382)

This site may be useful to you. I find it useful for memory refresh quite often.

GUILLE,

Hydrogen is the 1st atom that was made during the nucleosynthesis formation of the early universe. A few moments after BB, the universe is a bowl of soup containing quarks and leptons. The temperature drops, then the quarks began to form into Hydrogen nuclei (protons). Then the temperature drops, the Hydrogen nuclei began to form Hydrogen atoms. When Hydrogen atoms attracted each other by gravity, they began to form stellar clouds. when these clouds increase its density by gravity, the thermonuclear fusion process begins and a star is born. During the lifetime of the first stars, other nuclei of elements such as Helium, Carbon, Oxygen, Nitrogen, etc were formed. The stars died by nova or supernova. The heavier nuclei formed atoms with the lightest leptons (electrons) and clouds of planetesimals were formed and the planetesimal collided and formed planets when they start to orbit around another star.

that web page is my "Demostration that the theory of everything and it's existence would lead to an infinite paradox". I just would like to find any web page of someone's TOE that has the pradox writen and the solution of it. It would be amazing that the futurely accepted TOE include the paradox and the solution.

Thanks for the usefull link.

Antonio,

Are you saying that all the other elements have come out of fussions and chemical reactions of/from hydrogen???

that is correct. Light nuclei fuse (fusion) and heavy nuclei split (fission), both processes release energy basing on the stability of binding energy curve of nuclei. The most stable nuclei is at iron-56 (26 protons and 30 neutrons).

Nature seems to minimize the expenditure of energy such that light ones tend to fuse and heavy ones tends to split and the minimum energy for stability is at the middle of the periodic table of elements where iron is located.

Exactly the Hydrogen gave live to the birth and death of stars which created the entire universe. So might be we acccept it as GOD.
the superconducting nature of Hydrogen as a solid, which is ht eonly scope now available at room temperature is exciting.

Thinking is better than praying to
GOD
