The Heavenly Things on Earth
Whether by accident or by design, not many Heavenly things remain on Earth. I suggest just three: flowers, love, and dreams. A fourth, elfin creatures, is perhaps only a pleasant speculation on half-breed Heavenly beings that for some reason exist in the twilight scenes of our imagination.
Had flowers never appeared on Earth, could anyone even have conceived of them? Or, say, if the natural world was all green or had no color at all (colors are seen mostly in the flowers) would there have been a need for us to be even cognizant of colors?
More than anything else on earth, flowers have universal appeal, being picked, grown, presented, used for medications, and just plain admired as beautiful by everyone. Some think that flowers were a going away gift to Eve when she departed the Garden.
The second Heavenly thing on Earth, nightdreams during sleep, shows that we really don’t need eyes to see, an amazing insight in itself. Actually, all reality takes place in the mind’s eye—it just looks like it’s out there. Dreams, whatever their ultimate purpose, provide an all night cable TV channel on which we can put on almost any show that we chose—or we can just simply lay back and discover what’s on our mind, if we can read past the noise and static.
Finally, love, which is perhaps the greatest of the Heavenly things on Earth since it seems to be the greatest feeling on Earth. Would life even be worth living without affection, romance, passion, and loving? I wonder. Is there any excuse not to seek it out?
Certainly mind/consciousness is one too.
— Earth-Bound —
In Heaven, desired pleasures fall like rain,
Or so we’ve dreamed to avoid mortal pain;
But we needn’t wait for some promise beyond,
Since on Earth—enjoying life—we have the same!

Thanks Austin, you have put life into the forum. Atleast literature is not 'dead'! God bless you.ls
Where does infinity come from?
Obviously I think it doesn't have to come from anywhere, cause it's infinite.
On the other hand, it could have been infinitely nothing.
But it isn't, because we experience we are here; why is that?
What do you think, Dave?
(by the way; don't worry, this is not an attack, just a question which I'm interested in (it's just a hobby); and since you already gave interesting answers in this field in the past).
(By the way take all of my posts as a hobby; nothing has to be true; I'm here to have some fun (which also was my original intention), not to prove something).
(this between brackets).
So don't take anything of it seriously.
It could have been an eternity of nothing, but it isn't.
So what is it then? (just wondering...)
In case it would be an infinity of nothing, then how could we experience it as being something?
This doesn't prove the existence of a deity but it certainly doesn't falsify it either.
Relativity is infinite and infinity is relative.
I also think human thinking has a problem with the concepts of eternity and infinity;
But, with our human capabilities: I think there are two possible ways to interpret them:
1. we should get over it, or as I posted earlier; nothing is a miracle.
2. we don't have to get over it; on the contrary, it's beautiful: i.e. everything is a miracle (as posted earlier...).
It's either 1. or 2. Do I know which one? No.
But (following Einstein) I believe in the second one.
I would say, take a pick.
Scientifically, concerning what we know or don't know; both are important.
And why isn't it for example just an infinity of stones? 'Stones' don't necessarily have to lead to living beings?
What is reality? I think it could be more what one sees when he looks up to the sky at night.
Is the universe infinite??
The BB-theory
According to it, everything started with a Big Bang.
Now we know the universe is expanding, galaxysystems are flying away from eachother, the further they are, the faster they go.
It is very likely this expansion will happen until nothing of the universe remains.
But, according to the BB-theory, we only know what happened, a few moments just after the Big Bang occured.
It's ironical how explosion is also creation.
But if we don't know what happened at the moment of BB itself, then how can we know what will happen at the end of the universe?
It's often described as a dot of energy, which started to heat up and afterwards expanded.
Of course... where did the dot come from?
Did it come just out of nowhere?
If so, and the universe just ends, will there suddenly be a new dot?
Are will only eternal emptiness remain and maybe the invisible count?
Could the expansion be the result of a collision of universes?? (Maybe a stupid thought, but just curious...)
-------------------------- I believe in the positive, but I don't know anything for sure
What we could consider to be as a 'universe' on its own, is our brain. We have about a hundred billion neurons. While the general universe is expanding, our brain is also expanding; this happens because of the connections between the neurons.
Can thoughts be seen? The answer is yes. Thoughts can run very quickly.
When someone takes an MRI-scan of the brain, you can just see parts of the brain lighting and get dark again, as fast as the thoughts occur.
Thinking is very fast running connections between the neurons. It happens the same with animals (so it's likely they have consciousness , but of course not the same as humans do).
The mind is carried by the brain, which is like a 'universe' on its own, carried by the general universe.
It is very likely that after a past eruption of a supervolcano, there were only a few thousand people left.
Is the BB still happening? I think it's possible.
If not; something should have caused it.
In fact, the BB-model is a model which describes the beginning of time and space.
So asking causal questions about it is cognitive meaningless.
We can indicate the expansion of the universe as the direction of time(space).
But is it a beginning or a transition??

Humilty,coupled with boldness,surprises truth to
reveal herself?
For the illusory 'I'-part, life is reality, for what's behind it, it's just like a dream.
