Arthur sir....I realize that you are posting to Greg and Leskey here so please bear with my post.
You have stated that you do not have an ego. This is absolutely impossible as the Ego is the sheathe of consciousness through which you understand life and is also of prime importance in the fourfold structure of the psyche. The ego is pivotal to mediation with all other structures in the psyche and is the only part of the psyche which can mediate with the nuclear center called "the self." It is impossible to be without an ego!

What is your point Austin?
Not every war in history has been over religion, but religion has done little to ameliorate the conditions that led to war in those cases. The Roman Catholic Church aided Hitler.
Why people 'd fight over religion - rather than that people 'd fight over religion
is the key we're seeking
here.
Some innate connection to 'God' -
which people 'd fight over
Why?
Because 'faith in God' anchors the mind.
To have one's God challenged -
is to have one's own mind challenged
- is to feel as though
to fear the loss of one's own mind.
~*~
If faith has the capacity to bypass the logical mind -
and building the logical mind has been the task set to Homo sapiens
--- then ---
we're going to need to explore faith using everything that the logical mind has to throw at it -
- since
if we're not careful -
- continued abuse witnessed within societal dealings
- in the name of the unimaginative fundamentalist's dei de jour.

The Roman Catholic church
- Hitches their wagon to your need to know God.
- Commences abuse.
- Twist the knife until people are forced to understand why the God of Roman Catholicism is not the God which we're all striving
to expose'a group illusion'
- the God representing the process which we share an innate comprehension in.
(An engineered repression)- Arrival at the realization that all great religions are re-workings of the same basic theme.
Krishna and Christ -
of all the names in our Godly metaverse !
- Fundamentalists shoot themselves in the head (accidentally).
doh!
The End
We move on.

So did many of the Jews initially.
There is a universal hangup on the Catholic Church. My guess is because the power she, had /has, during the past 2,000 years. Some good news, some bad news, static and yet dynamic. It's structure is a global living entity. While people work for this entity, the entity itself is NOT human. It is probably the best ( worst ) example of an organized religion
The word evil is the word live backwards so we can consider any oppression and contrived circumstances by unwise leaders that take you to poverty an act of evil...
Why? Because virtues like grace, personal power, patience, courage and fortitude are gifts of the spirit. They cannot be reached unless you build an inner spiritual life, an inner sanctuary to receive these gifts. Poverty is more than states of the body, there is poverty of mind and an unpeaceful heart...fear conditioned in is not a compassionate heart...outer chaos cannot be addressed without the patience of the spirit...all these things tell us there is evil....

Mikal, "I do not have an ego to defend" I suppose could be read as "I don't have an ego". But Mikal, in your eyes is my credibility in the understanding and use of the English language so low that you could accept that I would purposely write such a silly statement as "I do not have an ego" per se?
