    I'm glad you're here...
I mistype things too (I mean to say that "fear [b]is[/i] learned" ... and hence whether or not you have a choice in pain, you can always be a "slow learner" regarding fear and it appears things still work fine - nature just adds more cushioning and safety nets - the tradeoff is that the cushions and safety nets are also restricting - learning to act without them appears ideal)

Thank you for the welcome also, Melanie. I admit I like to dig into the details a lot and my posts are often too long, but it's really just because I want to see as much of the "big picture" as I can, even if I have to paint in the details myself but I appreciate also the way you do it with beautiful sweeping rainbow strokes ... I'll get there someday, but I want to find a new "color" to add to it - in fact I think there's no limit to them. Two different people could already be seeing them and not even know it - everything appears as it always has been, until you merge it and then you find out (ironically) it never was the same.

My intuition tells me that our earth story is just a blink of the eye, within the grand illusionary scheme of things.
--------and blinking happens all by itself (hehehe) a lot.
Well whatever happened or happens, I think we're probably older than dirt - or maybe exactly as old as it. (OMG, does that mean I'm a dirty old (wo)man?! No! LOL! )

Then again, I think there are things still older and we'll just have to wait for the future to find them.

Thank you for the inspiration, Melanie.

No comment (You do find the most amazing pictures though )

Actually, I think you'd really like to see some of the fractal images I've generated with just very simple mathematical processes (just repeated a lot of time). Some of your icons have been like them, but I don't know where I could post images on-line.

Does anyone know where I can upload an image file for download? (The only problem is most of them are HUGE ... around 8000x6200 pixels and many took days to render. I had almost )

I would really love to see your fractals Steve...looking forward to that.

If you want to know more about uploading an image file for downloading.

Alternatively, you could scour this TOEQuest website for the instruction info you are looking for.

Awesome. Thank you for all of the info. I will try your suggestions tonight and see if I can get something pretty on-line for later

    Much appreciated, Melanie.

    Re: Truth is Timeless

I got an image up (It's very compressed and I only found a small set of the images on this machine, but it still gives a good view of the general "flavor" images I was generating)

There was an image that initially sparked some ideas. I've shown it here before and it's actually rather simple and uncluttered (I couldn't find the original link, but someone else appears to have copied it):

You can actually track through the equivalent of an invisible high energy source on the left, flowing toward the right as well as "inward" toward the "masses" and there are the equivalent of fields of force and gravity in this.

It basically uses a technique like plotting a "Bhuddabrot":

Yes, very true Now a good question is over whether or not reality "out there" is inherently like this, or is it because of the manner in which the mind works that imposes these qualities upon things it observes/understands?

I think there may once again be an observational bias and it arises from thought/comprehension/logic/intelligence - basically I assume it is the equivalent of DNA (though not a physical DNA, but DNA in terms of a conscious nervous system) that gives the appearance of these properties to the "energy" it observes. That energy is not specifically a universe nor thought nor sense etc. and it would appear there's no way to begin to describe it except as possibly either the compliment or union of some infinite diversity of possible perceptions - if we live on a planet, that is an atom in the bloodstream of a being that exists as one of the eyes of a multidimensional form with perceptions and conscious qualities we could barely begin to recognize existed, that's not even beginning to describe a speck of the unknown that lies beyond that and the first thought fails at being able to describe ... hmmm

Anyone got some spare time to do some exploring?

    Re: Truth is Timeless

They tell me I live on the edge of a galaxy...one of billions...
that is approximately one hundred thousand light years
in diameter containing billions of stars. That is a long way
and a lot of stars and that makes me feel very very small.

They also tell me that my body is made up of particles that
are only a small percentage of all the stuff I am. All of
the things I see and think are solid are really only patterns
of particles floating around and being held together by some mysterious force and kept apart by some unknown stuff.
That makes me feel pretty big....but not big enough.

The place you see as the place containing the smallest
particles and the string is only the beginning of smallness.
I wonder if the smallness of ether is equal, in magnitude,
to the vastness of the universe and the cosmos (GR)
is really an example of the make up of the ether (QM)
    that would balance things out.

I think the radiation you have detected beyond the edge
of the known universe is the place of creation, the place
of quarks, neutrinos and the string...the newly formed
atoms create the radiation and we exist in between the
    two...equally big and small.

It's easier to understand if you don'tn try to measure it
    in time.

Materialism-The phisophical theory that physical matter in its movements and madification is the only reality and that everything in the universe, including thought , feeling, mind, and will can be explained in terms of physical laws.

    versus

    Religionism-Excessive or affected religious zeal.

In one camp I see brilliant, well trained, scientific minds but I am afraid that all of their critical thinking has wounded their hearts and therefore crippled their souls.

In the other camp I see people who live inside of their own hearts and their minds are wounded by the judgement and authority of the church and therefore their souls have also been crippled.

What is the truth? Are both camps looking at the same thing and because of their jaded perspectives seeing two different things.

destruction of superstition rather than attempting
the overthrow of religious faith...human belief in

It has been said that man is the only species for whom his own existence poses a problem which he feels compelled to solve.
So many paths to the same destination,
would, but I could, experience them all...

I believe this is true...at least the species we know of .

The only reason my existence is a problem to me is because I am aware of it...all of the uncertainty, perplexity, and difficulty comes from this realization. The solution, for me, has always been to rise above mere animal instinct. To learn how to be wise with my gift of thought and seek the truth.

What gave me this illumination of mind and gift of thought? Where does it come from? It is said that we where created in the "Image of God." Maybe that has nothing to do with our physical appearence but rather the "Image of God" has everything to do with this duality of mind and heart, this self awareness.

"Your heart knows in silence the secrets
of the days and the nights.
But your ears thirst for the sound of
    your hearts knowledge.
Say not,"I have found the truth," but
rather,"I have found a truth." Gibran
