    Re: Truth is Timeless

    Hi Austintorn and Jag,

Thank you for welcoming me back. I had not yet left for heaven but I just had a respite.

I agree with your statement Jag, and I would like to add that it is also possible to come to know and understand truths which are beyond "experimentally proven facts". Mathematical, logical or rational, and personal or spiritual truths can also be known; may be not by experimental certainties, but by other forms of proofs.

    Yours Cosvis.

    Re: Truth is Timeless

What truly is behind all the names and places, all the faces and forms?
Behind all the lies, there is one big Truth.
And all the little lies lead back to the truth, like a path that is a circle.
For truth comes in many forms, just as lies do.
These truths and lies are hints, they are glimpses of the greater picture.
Fleeting visions of the greater image behind which lies a great Truth.

If you could see all the truths and lies in their totality,
you would know that they all flow from one place and that each reflects the other,
that they are but dim, glimmering reflections of another truth beyond them.
They are more abundant in their variety than the life in the oceans.
And just as the life in the oceans reflects the light and shade, reflects the countless colours,
so do these shimmering phenomena reflect the Ocean of Life, in all its diversity and possibility.

Just yesterday, before I read your reply, I was thinking of an underwater analogy of perceptions of truth. I think it is somewhat cosmic that I felt your energy because the words you uttered were such a good explanation of Timeless truth. Maybe it was the spirit of truth.

If I swim in the crystal clear waters of experimental certainty the truth I see has very little distortion and I can see it from a distance.
But if I swim in the murky waters of religious dogma, the truth I see is only a shadow. I have to swim very close to an object of truth to see it at all. This narrows my view and limits my ability to see a larger picture. But always the truth is there.

    Re: Truth is Timeless

    Hi to all,

I think "truth is timeless" because truth is something that is; it is opposite to what is not which is really a lie; an absent of truth. If truth is something that is, it has existence and reflects or points to the ultimate truth and existence which is God. God has all perfection or God would not be God. All perfections includes endless or timeless existence, truthfulness, goodness and beauty.

    Hi to all,

Thank you Jag for your support. I am glad that truth is the focal point of this thread because truth is necessary for life. One cannot live, work or make any progress on a lie, whether it is in the field of science, commerce, religion and or any other field of human activities.

    Yours Cosvis.

    Hi Cosvis,

Thank you for supporting the notion of "Timeless Truth."

The truth really is a shining light.

When you see it the lies become mere shadows and they fade before the light.

    Re: Truth is Timeless

    Hi Jag and all,

I think all people should be looking for the truth with and an open mind using all our faculties, especially our power to reason, to remember and to be able to discover new truths whether they may be found in nature, in philosophy, the arts, or in religious truths. We will only get true peace and freedom in the world if we live by the truth and not by lies or falsehood.

    Yours Cosvis.

    Re: Truth is Timeless

Truth and religion in the same sentence seems like a contradiction to me. I find more belief and tradition than truth when it comes to most religions. Most religious leaders teach their mythology as truth rather then teaching it for what it is which can make it a truth.

    Re: Truth is Timeless

    Hi Chazzysaw and all,

I find no contradiction between faith and truth. It is true that there are false religions and beliefs just as there are false or erroneous scientific theories. However, this does not exclude truth from faith; or reason from belief. Faith or belief without proper reasons makes it doubious, just as reason without faith restricts it in its scope. When I was young, I believed my father when he talked about things I had never seen, say about London or NewYork; but my reason to believe my father was becasue I trusted him and accepted that he would not tell me a lie. So too, we trust the teachings of the Bible, the Church because we trust them; they teach religious truths and this gives us knowledge about the supernatural reality. There exists definite treasons for the truths of our faith.

    Yours Cosvis.

    Hi cosvis,

" Truth connot be defined with words, only by living. Truth is always more than knowledge.

Revealed truth, personally discovered truth, is the supreme delight of the human soul; it is the joint creation of the material mind and the indwelling spirit. The eternal salvation of this truth-discerning and beauty-loving soul is assured by that hunger and thirst for goodness which leads this mortal to develop a singleness of purpose to do the Fathers will, to find God and to become like him. There is never conflict between true knowledge and truth. There may be conflict between knowledge and human beliefs, beliefs colored with prejudice, distorted by fear, and dominated by the dread of facing new facts of material discovery or spiritual progress.

But truth can never become man's possession without the exercise of faith. This is true because man's thoughts, wisdom, ethics, and ideals will never rise higher than his faith, his sublime hope.

Faith acts to release the superhuman activities of the divine spark, the immmortal germ, that lives within the mind of man, and which is the potential of eternal survival. Plants and animals survive in time by the technique of passing on from one generation to another identical particals of themselves. The human soul (personality) of man survives mortal death by identity association with this indwelling spark of divinity, which is immortal, and which functions to perpetuate the human personality upon a continuing and higher level of progressive universe existence. The concealed seed of the human soul is an immortal spirit. The second generation of the soul is the first of a succession of personality manifestations of spiritual and progressing existences, terminating only when this divine entity attains the source of its existence, the personal source of all existence, God, the universal Father.

Human life continues---survives---because it has a universal function, the task of finding God. The faith-activated soul of man cannot stop short of the attainment of this goal of destiny; and when it does once achieve this divine goal, it can never end because it has become like God --eternal."
    Jesus' teaching.
