    A pastor's sermon

I posted this in response elsewhere. I would like to know what people think here ... "enjoy"...

He really doesn't understand what he is saying.

    When in Rome ... (Romans)

QUOTE 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Maybe I should go ask him about this passage and what it means. What do you think? Something tells me I might see the AR-15 from the wrong end.

    Re: A pastor's sermon

I was thinking about this, and similar type situations on my way home from class today. Thoughts were also relating to "the war on terror" as well. When are people going to stop fighting fear with fear? When are people going to stop fighting for what they fear, and start fighting for what they love? No, not all people have this problem, but it seems that possibly ... too many do.

People seem to like being authorities.

Whether they've anything to say is quite another matter.

Tend to find that people with something to say, keep it for themselves; the 'ins and outs' of reality make speech less than ideal for conveying difficult messages.

    - live happily ever after,
    Amen.

    OK -
    googled the guy -

    http://www.towleroad.com/2009/09/pas...signorile.html

    would leave him alone -

    - there is no sense there -
a classical fundamentalist is all -

    best avoided.

The statement that 'they have eyes which cannot see' refers to an actual incapacity to realise (amongst other 'things') 'love' (in the context which you use the term in the post above)

    - the blind are incapable of operating in any more than that lesser (more primitive) system
    - a lesser (more primitive system) where they're feared by their 'lessers' -
    - and where they (in turn) fear their superiors.

Their aspirations (in this lesser system) becomes to be feared by most.

This pattern represents the classical workplace (physical) hierarchy -
    - and arises frequently
    - is notable for the absence of anybody particularly realising the point of the tasks which they're being paid to perform.

Why does this pattern occur, recur?

Because there are two logical structures of mind -
an immature (a young child's mind)
    and
    mature form (attribute - wisdom).

If there's no transition from immature -> mature structure of mind (comes with proper education)
    - we end up with adults with immature (undeveloped minds) -

    - their capacity for logical thought is impeded -
all fundamentalists bear this immature structure of mind -
where an actual incapacity for them to actually understand why they're behaving criminally irresponsibly is conferred (by virtue of their own mind)

    - their own minds can't (at that point in time)
handle the complexity (logical complexity, abstraction) of (closer to) the truth.

Will just look at you with glazed over eyes -
as if yur talkin' Marshun or sumptin'

With appropriate education, they can (though) become better.

Fear-based policies arise if the immature structure of mind is permitted to make policy -
    - love-based policies ... ... mature ... ... ...
there are two logical structures of mind -
'To have eyes which cannot see'
    love.

    Summary
When are people going to stop fighting for what they fear, and start fighting for what they love?
    Following a proper education.

True morality arises as a consequence of a properly educated mind.
