With 2012 edging ever closer what will befall mankind on this day? I feel that there will be no end of the world scenerio,but rather an opportunity for man the arise pick up his bed and walk,this will come about gradually as a recognision of the major illness that plagues humanity that of selfishness,and self centeredness. The utter domination of the ego and its vice like grip on all human endevours.2012 will open up a doorway that many will begin to enter and see the wood through the trees,begin to wake up from the hypnotic slumber and see the lies peddled out on the tv screens,the surface trivia dished up as "news" and begin to realise that we are all interconnected and are as one,wholeness will gradually replace fragmented egotism.

The apocalypse (a prophetic 'revelation', especially concerning a cataclysm in which the forces of good permanently triumph over the forces of evil.) spoken of in connection with Jesus and the christian prophecies seems to be timing out with the end of the Mayan calendar.

If you look at the message of christian teaching it starts with a war in heaven and a renegade band of fallen angles being banished to earth to reign supreme over the evolving beings there for a period of time. Maybe, as part of the peace accord, a time was set to be the end of this reign of confusion. Why not a cosmic event that happens only once every 26,000 years or so (Dec. 21 2012) to be the end of confusion and the beginning of a new awakening?

This 'apocalypse' is also timing out with the worlds 'peak oil' situation. Our fossil fuel based economy is in decline which will exert a lot more pressure on the worlds social and political systems in the near future.

A scientific breakthrough is desperately needed on the energy front soon! Maybe it will be a "Hundredth monkey effect". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundredth_monkey_effect.

One thing I know for sure is that evolution guarantees that if you cannot adapt to changes in your environment you will become extinct.

It would seem that mankind has been wiped out many times,only to start again and hopefully learn from his mistakes,the last time it was the great flood,this time who knows? Whatever form it takes no doubt there will be some who survive in physical form to hopefully start again.

I will take it as the 12th ...... Now that I recall I am off shift roster on that day, and in the morning I will be making a cup of coffee and reading a short story called 'The Popul Vuh' ...... lolol

No doubt the rest of mankind will be doing the same ?

This truth will be repeated it has been said that we will experience peace for 1000 years but after that we are going to face an extinction level event ...I haven't had much time to debate 2012 but it seems to be a good thing for us to study after it happens rather than predict "astrological predictions" I'd like the next person who mentions 2012 to have some legitimate reason for it other than "hearsay".

It will not be the end theunify,rather the opposite I feel,we will have a gradual dawning of an higher awareness as we enter a new age.
