Forum Introduction - 12-07-2007, 03:45 PM

Welcome to the Scientific Study forum. The aim of this forum is to present an overview and discussion of current scientific study that is being undertaken-- whether that be experiments on the ground, or in space-- in an attempt to understand more about the universe in which we live.

We have made some changes to the operation of the forum. All members may now post to current threads, as before, and may now start new threads. However, new threads will not appear in the forum right away, but will first be checked by the moderator to ensure they are suitable, and to ensure that the opening post of new threads gives clear, concise information regarding that particular scientific study. This is to try and keep the forum more organised and enable members to see, at a glance, what the ongoing scientific studies are, and view the latest discussion on those studies.

So, if you have an idea, please post a new thread on that idea. As a guide, the following would be useful to include in the post:
  • A brief introduction to the scientific study, its location and what it actually does.
  • An overview of the objectives of the particular scientific study
  • References; preferably websites, but these could include books, journal articles, etc..

Note that, if you do not wish to write such an introductory post, but have an idea for a study you would like a thread opened for, then simply post a new thread with the name of the study, and possibly a website for further information. I will then write the introductory post, and open the thread up for discussion.

Finally, if anyone has any general comments, or ways in which this particular forum can be improved, then feel free to PM me.
