'Time' is a sticky wicket, indeed, and it has not yet been defined in a manner that is satisfactory to all disciplines of science and/or philosophy, despite it being one of the most used words in the English language, and it is very difficult to have a dialogue without incorporating references to same, as we use this concept as a reference for nearly all (past, present and future) interactions.

The absolutes are the only truths in the science threads, when pertaining to science... Even relativity is an absolute measurement, in classical mechanics, and all is measured in classical mechanics, with classical motion adjustments... Outside of 'idiot humanity', absolutivity rules supreme...

Time is real, we all experience it. Understanding it is another matter.
Time does have a connection to space but it isn't distance. Time is the creation of the three dimensions we move around in, up & down, forwards & backwards, left & right in other words 'space'. It is concentrated energy that creates space, what we call matter. If this is true, as I believe it is, then gravity is not a force that works over an infinite distance but is 'localised' which is why stars in move at a almost fixed rotation in side galaxies. No need for dark matter, dark energy or gravitational radiation.
I have mathematically modelled gravity using this concept and it works well.

If this is true, as I believe it is, then gravity is not a force that works over an infinite distance but is 'localised' which is why stars in move at a almost fixed rotation in side galaxies.

The reason stars are fixed is because black-holes release space-time. I say 'release' because space-time is trapped in matter and as its broken down in a singularity space-time is released and they are not directly confined by the speed of light. Because space-time is expanding at the center of galaxies, its that much more distance-time for stars to travel in relation to the stars outside of the galaxies.
