Non-occupied and occupied space is simplest definition that even a 6 yr old can understand.

On train or plane the bathroom sometimes has a little sliding sign that states whether the bathroom is occupied or non-occupied.

The macro-micro infinite non-occupied space is defined/bounded from within, ----not from without--- by the finite occupied space( Universe ) that it embraces......

Zen mind( no-mind? ) recognizes a subdivision the one( 1 ) "U"niverse into two( 2 ) i.e. (1) non-occupied space( Beyond-U ) and (2) occupied space( Universe-U ).

Cubo-octahedron aka truncated cube or Vector Equlibrium:

Zen mind recognizes a 2nd type physical space known as bosons and here below we see the cubo-octahedral system from above, infolds into the topology of two sine-waves ergo an Euclidean view of EMRadiation( photon(s) set of two curved sine-waves.( see bottom of page linked too ).

Zen mind then recognizes the doubling/layering effect that maps 4 openings or faces of the double sine-waves.

These 4 openings or faces can also be seen as the basic blue-print/mapping for whales( mammals side fins/paddles and rear flukes, or, if we turn the two of the cojoined faces at 90 degrees to the the other set of two, we get the basic mapping for fish/shark where their tail fin is at 90 degrees to the their side fins/paddles.

Many animals and humans to some degree are associated with quadra-peditic mapping and in addition, some animals and humans have 4 fingers + 1( thumb ) = 5 ergo phi-fold biologicals and most complex set of 31 bilatearal spinal nerves
..{ take note of the 31 here and with the icosahedron above }...

So Zen mind also sees 8 openings or faces of the doubled octahedron as electron
..{ or perhaps(?) fermionic matter in general }.....

The human has 8 fingers and two thumbs ergo ten digits or if we include toes 20.

A 2D TRI-angle is the minimal differrentiation of inside space i.e. space inside the TRI-angle and space outside of the triangle.

It is assumed, that, the area the triangle and the space inside are both occupied space.

I suggest, that, the occupied space is never less than 9 angles i.e. that, the 2D triangle space only exists as a occupied physical/quasi-phyiscal field, when the triangle is subdivided into three smaller triangles within the greater TRI-angle.

The minimal 3D tube/cylinder, is a 2D triangle, that is moving overtime and space and is sometimes referred too as a prismatic shape.

When the tube is considered to have a solid interior, as does the typical prism/quartz, then the triangle is subdivided, as the solid-like interior space and I am calling the finite physical/quasi-physical field.

2D Here and Now

In the above link, I try to make clear the names of the parts i.e. the greater whole TRI-angle is composed of 3-yippionic corners and 3-lines/edges.

The subdivided TRI-angle is composed of 4-vertexions and can be viewed as 2D subdivided TRI-angle having 9-angles or as 3D tetrahedron having 12-angles.

It is at this stage/phase of defining space, that we can go off into various scenarios regarding what is spacetime, what is physical , what is quasi-physical and what is time.

Today I choose to go off on a 2D, surface-like scenario, ----picture a geodesic spherical of triangles----, where some are all of those surface vertexionic like points, are oscillating between outward and inward, creating a undulating surface motion.

This above link is not exactly what I am imaging but approximates, and I have been posting off and on for many years. This version may help some to see how we can move from a simple 2D undulating surface motions to 3D tube-like opening geodesics.

Undulation of the 2D surface creates concavities and convexities of surface and this may be one way of justifying Jacob Bekenstiens statements that, ... "we are 2D creatures having and illusion of 3D"... based on his black hole holographic-like mathematic, explorations.

In Rybonics I would say that, our 3D illusions, are a resultant of the interference of no less than the 8 ---ergo a cubical orienatation--- of these oscillating icosahedral --ergo phi/golden ratio---based geodesicals to create bosons and fermions.

In these scenarios, I would say that bosons are related to the 8 Icosahedral --ergo phi/golden ratio--- geodesics around a 9th and central/nuclear icosahedral.

I would equate fermions with 8 around a 9th central/nuclear octahedral or tetrahedral geodesical.

These latter scenarios, are more complicated and I do not have newer graphics to replace these original rough drafts to bettern understand the complex nature of spacetime, as I see in infolding as mass/matter and out-folding less mass and non-matter ergo forces between fermionic matter.
