Know yourself this well,
Know that what you will to be done to yourself, is no different than what you would do to others, and know that what you think is appropriate, is applicable to everyone. Know that there is no excuse but that for which you are willing to pay the price. Know that what you give, is returned in kind. Know that what you lose, is what you have never earned. Know that what you have earned, has made you grow. Know that what you have learned, has made you know. Know that if you have been there before, to give to others the benefit of your experience. Know that if you see a wrong, to not take the right of correcting it away from those who have made the wrong. Know that life is no less a privilige, than it is a duty. Know that your being here is no coincidence.

Thank you Baud,that post was one of beauty and grace,and also very true,
and dammed hard to live up to.I think also,that as well as,let knowledge be
your guide,I would add also,let your conscience be your guide,again not always easy to live up to.
kind regards michael. Humilty,coupled with boldness,surprises truth to

Baud,
There is very little to say about what you've said except that it cannot be disputed. | |

Wow, Baud, poetic and true. Sounds a bit like the Dalai Lama's wishes for 2005:
1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risks;
2. when you lose don't lose the lesson;
3. follow the 3 R's (respect for self, respect for others and responsibility for your actions);
4.remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck
5.learn the rules so you know how to break them properly;
6.don't let a little dispute injure a great relationship;
7.when you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it;
8.spend some time alone each day;
9. open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values;
10. remember that silence is sometimes the best answer;
11. live a good, honourable life. That way, when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time;
12. a loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life;
13. in disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the present situation, don't bring up the past;
14. share your knowledge, it's a way to achieve immortality;
15. be gentle with the earth;
16. once a year, go someplace you've never been before;
17. remember the best relationship is the one where your love for each other exceeds your need for each other;
18. judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it;
19. approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.
(I particularly like the last one!)
