Re: Spirituality and Religion - 06-30-2008, 06:39 AM

Dive...I can only speak for myself from my own journey through life....the truth reveals itself through inner experiential levels which for me were visionary, perceptual, intuitional and sensory experiences with non-physical energy and non-physical beings. Seeing I did not meditate or read to become spiritual...it just seems to have been scripted possibly within my own DNA and definitely within the natural course of my life. I really have no need to prove anything...I just like discussion and rationally bantering about alot of our diversity and why that it...

Peace Mikal

Thank you Mikal, you have expressed it perfectly.

Dive, some things can't be proven or disproven such as God's existence. Some things, like God's Love has to be directly experienced. It is through this direct contact that one comes to have Faith, something which transcends logic and analysis.

When I was you age I doubted everything, unless it could be proven. This is normal and natural to any inquiring mind. It was only at my most desperate hours, that through God's Grace, I felt His Divine Love. This has changed my outlook on life 180 degrees. I now accept that feeling I had some 30 years ago to be more real than my own existence.
It was the catalyst which enabled me to transcend this physical, and yes illusional realm of reality.

You are young, and so explore this wonderful reality, which God has given us, and at the right moment you may experience what Mikal and I have experienced.

Good luck and God bless.

Pat

Wow, dive you've already come down to spirituality and transcendental view. And I still believe there is a logic in spirituality. The logic can be traced if we can go through history and find the birth of spirituality. Don't mistake me, I'm not talking about history because I'm a history student because I'm not. But the reasons for a man's belief lies in his past. So we need to trace history. Or we can just start by feeling what the first man who thought about god felt.

Spirit is supposed to be something within us. So spirituality can be all about self beliefs. A religion is just something which polishes this beliefs or influences the beliefs. Because a good thought can make a good man. And good men can make a better world. A good man who has thought about stuff like what's all this in the world in the creation, would have a lot to share. If his thoughts are good then good men follow it because it would be somewhere close to what they feel and there you go a religion is formed. The best of them is the prophet the remaining are his followers.

So we always follow what's close to our heart. So it was within us. Somebody recognized it and got to a position to explain it first. Doesn't mean we didn't know about it, it just means we hadn't recognized it.

So our spirit is what we may believe in. And that may be what spirituality is.

So I guess the question now is, is there only one truth, or is there no truth
my opinion is that there is one truth and that everyone is going to have variences of it, through the distortion of their subjectiveness. but I have heard other opinions, I just dont see how everyone can be right.

Things may not be what they seem, but we're taking life day by day. juste apprécier la vie.

Hi Dive:

There is only truth. You are truth, I am truth. What you believe is your truth, what I believe is my truth. The suffering in Darfur is truth. The beauty of a new born baby is truth. The fact that people are able to lie is truth.

What truth do you seek?

Good luck on your quest Truth Seeker,

Pat

Everybody is correct: you are the perfect, imperfect Dive. I am the perfect, imperfect Profpat. And that is the truth.

The fact that neither scientists, nor inventors of truth, nor ToeQuestors, nor those claiming sensory meditative can be sure of the proof of the truth says a lot about a way of life to be 'chosen'—might as well freely choose without fear, for we are thrust here willy-nilly not knowing.

Two images of truth, both are female both have mirrors to reflect reality which is truth:

Dive;
The way I see it is quite simple; do you believe in god or don’t you? There is no such thing as an agnostic for no one can know for sure! The way to tell is to answer this simple question:
If your god asked you to sacrifice your child what would you say?
If NO – then you are an atheist.
If YES – then you are a very dangerous person.

That’s just my atheist opinion.

Well said!
The 'truth' images are female because they reference the 'feminine / yin /receptive side' of our nature..... in other words, we 'receive', or otherwise 'view' the 3D 'reflection' of ourselves that we 'project' into 'reality'.

Those who cannot 'see' their reflection in the 'mirror of reality' are often the subject of horror films.

Fundamentally, we are in ('reality') a holographic reflection of our own consciousness and the contents thereof.
There is, of course, a 'universal reality' but that universal reality (science facts, etc.) is only a fraction of our individualized and subjective 'reality'.

The idea of 'reality' (and justice) being 'a mirror' is quite astounding..... to alter 'reality' all we need do is to alter the contents of consciousness (and accompanying behavior).

I cannot think of a more perfect cosmology .... 'outside' is a reflection of 'inside'.... The ancient Alchemical /Hermetic context that captures these ideas is called "The Alchemical Marriage".
The Alchemical Marriage states that our consciousness and its 'contents/context (circumstances)' are joined eternally. The 'marriage' can be ideal, on-the-rocks, terrible, or virtually any configuration between utterly amazing and super, and malicious and deadly.

Yes, the 'truth' always presents herself before us as a mirror into our very soul. A 'reflection' that can be changed by simply changing ourselves.

The source of a holographic image is still real, such as today's 2D static versions laser lit to produce 3D. What could be projecting a holographic body and/or universe?

Is that just nature's implementation of reality, our end result being about the same as if all were real right where we are?
