humm, I will wait inpatiance.

can something exist not being in a LOE? (I know it's paradoxical: level of existence) or if something is not exactly in dimensional level of existence it has decimals of dimensions?

we are in an LOE where the speed of light is ~300,000 km/sec, where the mass ratio of proton over electron is ~1836. This LOE gives us Planck's constant, and many other physical constants.

The anthropic principle (weak and strong) relates the whole universe to the existence of life.

Guille, Antonio, could you please read my short article about objective reality in "Philosophy, General Discussion", and comment on it? I think it could be interesting...

strings made of absence - 05-11-2005, 03:36 PM

Antonio,

could it be that the strings in the string (or M) theory are made of particles that don't occupy space neother have mass or are matter, but that simply come together forming 3d or 4d objects?

in other words, in the fisicall microscopic world, could it be in geometry math using, that 0+0=1?¿?¿?¿?¿?

I was wondering in adding this concept to my theory, so that it can relate to string theory, and to have more things than my processes.

I guess I would have to "invet" this math, right?

maybe these particles could actually be gravitons. do gravitons occupy space?

guille,

In superstring theories and M-theory, matter are open-loop strings, while gravitons are closed-loops strings. gravitons can travel between branes while everything else is confined to one brane, which is our universe.

Excuse me for my silly question... but what is a brane??

branes are two dimensional analogue of the one dimensional strings.

I know what branas are, but I have an even more stupid question that dipanyankar: what is an analogue? (in the meaning of your post).

this is a dimensional analogy representing similarity if and only if you and both agree to the conceptual meaning of dimension. If your definition of dimension is different from what I have in mind then we obviously can have different understanding of string and brane.

a more concrete analogy of brane is that it is a tapestry of infinite fibers of string like a piece of cloth is made up of many string sewn together.

if you see, it is stupid to think that a two dimensional object is a cluster of many one dimensional objects: it doesn't matter how many zeros of the two dimension you have, you will never get to have a second dimension.

By concept of dimension isn't really developed: I think its a really hard thing to think about and conclude.
