Just a thought.
Does the universe have a centre. If so then more than just moving away from each other are the galaxies revolving around the centre.

The universe can't ahve a centre because that would mean there is a point of reference and so the whole work of relativity is partly wrong (at least is wrong in all events including an observer in the centre of the universe, but even in those events not ioncluding it, as some are in perpendicularity with the point they might also have to change in theory). Actually, the universe miht have a centre, but if it has one we must re-invent special relativity. No obsevations have reached far enough to tell if there is a centre or if a tall the universe is spherical.
All"things" have a centre, only the Thing does not.
kind regards michael.

There is no such thing as 'the thing'. What is it, the universe? Is the universe some-thing at all?

Well actually there "IS" my friend, the Thing is all there everwill be, or has been, the universe is a product of mindfulness which expresses itself in the realitive universe, the centre of that is the singularity, and back of that is the Thing! Which is potentual-Potentuality?
Of which you and I know no-thing about!
kindregards michael.

If you are speaking of singularities then there is no back as such all predictabilities break down at singularities. However singularities either have a past or the future. It can't have both. But as we know entropy always increases. We must be in the future. That is there is no back of the thing.

hi friends
conducting experiments by hubble telescope i,e redshift and blueshift in which scientists had found that every galaxy is going away from our galaxy and rate of rate of change of speed depend on the distance between the two galaxy.
In one way we can say that our earth is at center but i think if we will go to some other galaxy then also we will find the same thing(every galaxy is going away) then we can't say that earth is at center instead we can say that universe don't have center.
if we will think in different way universe i,e all galaxies are at the surface area of a four dimension sphere and we can consider that as fourth dimension i,e time.
and if we want to know to center of universe then center will be at big bang point
What u are saying is relativistic. But lets say u are in a different universe then will u find the big bang point. Or is there a big bang point.

According to relativity, everything is travelling in straight path and having speed of light,we see curved path like earth is revolving around the sun is due to curve form in space itself i,e called spacetime cuvature
We are not able to find that all are travelling with speed of light because we are not considering the speed in time direction,if we will consider that resultant speed will became speed of light.
if we want to point out the center then it will be opposite direction of speed of every thing because every thing is travelling straight hence i can say there in no need of stick
i am considering bigbang point as a point where the space dimension were minimum and at that moment time starts.Originally Posted by Mohan.C
In different universe also big bang point will be starting of time or may be some other dimension we can't say that it is time.I think there is no need to find big bang point of our universe.

I think you didn't get my point. I didn't mean to find the big bang point of the neighbouring universe. but ours standing in the neighbouring universe. Could that be done do you believe in it.Originally Posted by surya
