Cool How would Mandlebrot fit into the TOE?

It seems that we have discussed the TOE from many perspectives, but something that I have been wondering about for some time now is the relationship between the TOE and the Mandlebrot set. Mandlebrot seems to me to more accurately describe nature than any other formulae, because it speaks of becoming rather than equalling. As someone pointed out in another thread, nature is certainly not about equality, but about individuality and becoming or evolution. Would the TOE have to include the Mandlebrot set? Would the TOE have to account for the Mandlebrot set? Feel free to throw anything back at me, I have a lot of curiousity around this.

Re: How would Mandlebrot fit into the TOE?

Mandelbrot, if I am not mistake is a Fibonaccian Fractal. It is a spiral.

As some may have noticed, the universe is fundementally full of the spirals, and golden rations. They are found everywhere.
The universe is a house of mirrors and I am but a humble clown in the carnival.

    Duality is Comedy-Drama-Tragedy, Positive-Neutral-Negative.

However in shadow of these two-as-one, you will always find a third, making three-as-two-as-one.

Thanks for the thread Harmony,I think it would fit into the toe as a river fits into a fractualed border? As lightening strikes in zig zag formation,so it would
    certainly fit into toe!

    kind regards michael.

KAC, I think you are correct (although when I was checking out the Golden ratio, I didn't come across a site that included Mandlebrot that made sense to me). So would the TOE have to account for this particular fractal? All fractals? The golden ratio? The 5 Platonic solids? Sacred Geometry (which I actually think has been overlooked by and large)?

Harmony, they would surely be all included would they not?after all it would be an inclusive theory would it not?

    kind regards michael.

Michael, I was unsure it the search for the TOE was simply a search for a GUT (in which case it wouldn't entertain these concepts) but I think you are right. The TOE needs to account for all of these and for universal harmony as well (no pun intended!)

Re: How would Mandlebrot fit into the TOE?

    Harmonygirl,
I think the Mandelbrotset represents a kind of model for the relation TOE-World. Out of a simple iteration this huge and beautiful complexity rises. And with that one could think that out of something simple - for instance the TOE - this huge complexity of the universe unfolds itself - that is to say: with the help of someone who does the unfolding, or sets it into motion, or does both in a specific and still unknown way.

Benedict, I am not sure I understood. Do you think that the TOE being (hopefully) simple, will be released into the world in a pattern like a Mandlebrot set? but it would have to account for the Mandlebrot set as well, no? (so this would be a set that contains itself?)
