The TOE and Technology

It is said that the TOE will bring about major changes in the way we view our reality. Everything from our understading of our purpose in the grand scheme of things, to understanding how electrons create a negative charge, to how and why the universe expands, etc. etc.. Also why is the speed of light a certain value, and so on and so forth. Many longstanding mysteries such as energy and time will become illuminated they say, and all the forces will be explained within a single undivided field. Who knows, a longstanding number that has been kept in the dark may even receive it's definition One has to wonder, wIth all of these expected new revelations and realizations, what kind of technology will it bring?

This thread is meant to encourage open discussion about the TOE and Technology. Will we find new ways of getting energy or of breaking the laws of GR and QM as we know them? Time will tell. Let's have some fun in the meantime and kick around some ideas about what new technology the TOE may bring.

Some think that the Theory of Everything is only required to explain the unification of the four known forces. Others that it is a true Theory of Everything. I am not sure which of these two the majority on this forum support.

Every time I try to work out the distinction I end up back with the unification TOE as the only possible one. If I start off thinking the TOE really will be a theory of life, the universe and all that I arrive at the same paradox. Any theory that totally explains life, the universe and all that could account for all history since time began and all of the future until the death of the universe. Wars, religion, physics, spirituality, ingrown toenails, even why we need such a theory. You might argue about the future, but if you leave it out, the theory is no longer capable of accounting for everything.

Any further advance would be impossible because it would not be within the theory's account of the universe. You can't add to the theory after its discovery because the theory already contains everything. At this point I usually reach the conclusion that the theory is redundant. The universe continues on its diurnal course the way it always has regardless of the discovery of such a theory or not. Such a theory would be meaningless

The only theory that is now possible is the unification theory. Once we have understood the unification of the four forces the possibility of our now affecting the future of the universe, (absolutely zero at present) becomes a possibility, in fact a distinct and measurable probability even. We now hold the exact receipe to build / found a universe. We have always held the materials.

If you subscribe to the theory that life is seeded thru out our own universe in some form of archea or eukaryotes then it may be our purpose to seed this or other universes with a hi order life form such as ourselves. Life in its lonely all conquering journey will have passed another major milestone.

There is no difference between a Grand Unified Theory and a Theory of Everything. It kills me because wikipedia has three entries for the same thing!!! Truthfully you cannot unify the four fundamental forces without discovering something more basic, fundamnetal, and awe-inspiring about our universe. You cannot have one and not the other. You cannot have a GUT without a TOE. They are two words for the same thing.

At the most basic level time, consciousness, energy and light are all identities of the same singular enigma. I agree it seems hard to have a theory that describes everything perfectly. But know this, when I say that 1/0=everything, I have just described everything perfectly as a singular enigma of time, consciousness, energy and light! So you see, it can really be done and I have just shown you how. Yeah I know it's amazing, but whatever. It ain't nothing like the symbol I'm about to show you.

Now I know this is going to be a lot of information for you to absorb all at once but don't let that scare you because what you stand to gain is sheer unbelievable knowledge of everything as a functional symbol. Once you have a perfect description of everything, as a functional symbol, you never have to have anything again to replace it. All you have to do is appreciate and behold it's meaning (don't worry, that will keep us plenty busy for the rest of time). Apply the symbol of everything everywhere in life, for it applies to everything from philosophy to technology. The greatest technology is based on the greatest philosophy. And such a philosophy is not meaningless or redundant. Rather it is predestined by our own wills - a self-fulfilling meaningful prophecy that will lead us back to our origins and connect us back to the universe. It's like you said, once we have the ability to create our own universe, we may find out "who" really created ours.

You keep on thinking and asking questions Graybeard. And if you want, I'll show you a really cool symbol that may strike you as familiar.

POK .... Thank you for kind words. Nearly every thread has some mention of I/0. I don't claim to have any inkling at all as to what it means. But I will make a serious attack on it very soon and try to grasp it.

Can you understand the concept of yin and yang? If you can understand that concept then you can understand 1/0. I'll give you a hint, the yin yang symbol and 1/0 both mean the same thing!!! But I am the first one to recognize it so don't be surprised when you look at 1/0 in a math book and it says undefined.

1/0 is the opposite of 0 and it's the same thing as the yin yang symbol, and that's the true definition I figured out. But there's another symbol besides that and it's the one that I really use.
