Hello chazzysaw.. odd name.. but catchy!
Anyways, think of how we perceive everything. All of our senses are controlled by our body, and our mind is so overwhelmed by this that it sees us as living in this world of senses.
I like to think of us in terms of living in a virtual world. Think of a video game, but instead of perceiving it from the outside by your monitor you are living in the world. You see something, because the code in the game describes all of the pictures to you, all of the sounds, and tastes and smells. We would think it is real because we could perceive everything, but in fact we are just a part of the code, everything is connected through it.
Now think with our expanding technology, it isn't going to take long before we have deciphered how our brain works. We will be able to transform the processes of the brain into logical code of our own doings. Once we have this, implanting the code of our brain in a virtual world would seem just as 'real' as the world we live in now seems real. If our brain is telling us that everything is real, and touchable and feel-able.. would that be any less real than our world today? Or is our world today the same thing?
Just some food for thought. Oh and here are some of our physics engines that are used in some of our video games nowadays. Even if you don't care about games I still think these videos could be very interesting.
Starts out slow but keep watching and it uses a lot of wind effects to show the physics! ->
