Re: What is the Root of all evil? - 05-02-2008, 01:56 PM

"---Drifter.
---For quite a few posts, I have been even arguing with Tina over the existence of objective evil; evil that exists, simply, because it is a part of existence itself."

1. I hadn't noticed, my mind is usually on more placid things.

2. Both good and bad make up our phenomenal existence, that's duality..

"---Actually, all you have to do is point. If the individual wishes to look, admit a lack of understanding and then, attempt to comprehend it, they will."

1. It isn't my decision to make a choice as to what is wrong or right for anyone other than my self.

2. Personally, I say "His Will", not my own. "HE" being my own Higher Self. "me" as we speak, being my lower self. "HE" is seldom wrong in these matters.

"---Moreover, pointing is not even required."

1. sometimes a seeker ask for guidance. Or what is Truth.

2. All anyone with any compassion can do, is point to truth.

"---I know enough to comprehend quite a few things. I know that; after the end of time, as it was before time, the only limit that will be found to existence is nonexistence."

1. How is that non-existence, "limited"?

2. To my way of thinking, existence, is limited.?

"I comprehend how; nonexistence has an existence."

Really?

"---And I know the meaning of life is; to search for the answer to the question, 'Is there nothing more' "

Do tell?

"That the answer will be “No.” I know that the following question will be, 'Now what?' "

ok, Now what?

"---I know that belief is as needed in science as it is in religion and that science is a religion."

Both are temporal, only one is absolute.

"---I know how existence does exist, it doesn’t exist, it is both at the same time and it is none of this sentence."

Is this an example of the "bird-talk" you referred to earlier?

"---I just don’t try to couch those thoughts, when I attempt to describe them, in gobbledygook and bullshit."

Somethings need not be said to be understood.

Stop with the singing." W.C. Fields

Pat i'm sorry to have to say this but it has to be said ....

futurthink was the antagonist if i recall .. he was waving on an argument stance ...read back at the post in question.
Not that there is anything wrong with disagreements
surely that is part of any discussion isn't it??

Sorry but it's double standards on this forum sometimes.

We're all here, on the forum, by choice, possibly trying to make the best of an otherwise mundane experiential existence.

We try to leave our troubles, our baggage and our ego's, outside the door.

Why??

take it or leave it, it's for everyone to read and take their truths or non-truths from, not to be judged.

We express in the only way that feels right for the individual.
Each individual is acting out of his/her personal understanding.
Take it or leave it.

simple isn't it.

We are often afraid mostly, of that what we don't understand.

---Profpat.
---To save Tina’s thread, I have sent my answer to Drifter as a PM. I will send a copy of it to you, so that you can read it.
---I did not think I was being antagonistic in my reply to Drifter after he called my vision anthropocentric, I was merely explaining some information. Or at least, that was what I thought I was doing. Apparently, to drifter’s perception, I was being insulting after I believed that I was insulted.

The world is the way it is, because we like it this way.
