Thank You Sir...
This is the third time this week and in total for the past 40 years anyone has ever said so...
I am humbly honored to have offered my life for my country and thankful I still have both arms and legs and a somewhat unscathed mind as a result of it...many of 'my brothers' were not so fortunate as I...
I am truly blessed Sir...Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I did a George Bush during Vietnam and joined the Air National Guard. After 6 months of basic and tech school, we became weekend warriors.
I was activated twice during my stint there, once in 1967 because of the Detroit riots and again in 1968 because of the Detroit riots. Detroit likes to riot a lot.

Drift,
Carl Sagan was filled with the wonder of life; I think, too, that he is missed; he also had some great argument against the One Being sometimes referred to as God.
I delivered computer tapes for the Army.

just an old story
" small smokeless fire being tended, Cambodia, camo faces peering into the darkness ... from ten to twenty feet away from the glow of ... melted into the dusk .. of jungle mud .. grime and insects, always insects ..."
the captain comes out of a smoky dug out holding in his arms non script manila file holders, so empty now the twelve was held in one hand, his left. His right always where it was.
Black in heart and skin, you would know him by his teeth, rotten to the core, never mind his bloodshot eyes or rolling walk.
"Well boys, time to leave, i think?" he said, softly, but all heard him.
One by one eyes blink to reflected ember white agreement after a slight caress of stock or drummed fingers on a scabbarded knife hilt and even a deep breath or two ... one spit, another realized the tight grip of hung frag, an just a slight less grip was given....
snipe lifting his net off his face, dog, wolf, dave, redye, ... one by one in silent toe first step they rose each in turn to take there file, and a single record sheet of contract form that had made them what they were ... then each sit back down for the moon as embers rose to flame so fed now of empty handed turn, just breifly a light.... not one smile did show as history turned to ash.
south by south east the path sixty and four the beach and z, quiet were the guns and dry the knife and curled the wire as food came unaware an passed.
They were going home. fifty would have passed, and did. Seventy five would have passed and did, in running lope as a hundred would have passed too, for victory was soon there's, they were all going home too ... but only eighty six went by till one ... just had to pee. one, just had, to, pee.
eighty seven turned to the scream, more then could see it all, he'd have no children now for sure an faced one twenty more or so all so fast as in between the run was gauntlet doom, for the ten between so seen ...
Snipe was up a tree, quiet as he could be, redeye under leaves, he couldn't run you see.
no one knows more then ten how many died that morn and day, but come that night and three days more twenty seven rear guard met there date with fate, deserted is what they said for sure of all or home meant more then some straglers late or fate... then in border reached, a number twenty eight, a general sure or some unknown high stupid rank standing at the gate, ... 830 yards or more a foot or two away, just smiling and smoking looking smugly back as smoky circled curls waifted straight above his lips, no wind.... glasses truned then to specticle and brains to feed the fish old foolish man was he, hah!
... redeye waited at the z, an two went home to peace ... eventually, with footsteps lost in time you see.
(words found in diary floating in the south china sea) canadian author unknown,
War is evil.
Children and old men just making a dollar or two at the cost of others care?
This was evil, is, and will be evil, by nature of man ability to do so, less he be somthing less, or more? Just the ponder an really who cares that much or could as a job is just a job for some. but i personaly do not know the root of evil despite the ponder, sorry tina it has slipped me by and i guess piddling is the root? hmmm ~ g

THE CALM AFTER WAR
Soldiers' weary footsteps...
Echo across empty fields...
Hears are heavy..children fatherless
Coffins endless..in the terror war yields.
The Dawn breaks its light
Upon man's heavy burden of hidden pain
Tears choked back...gripping fear
Horror internalized with nothing to gain
The Sun shines upon unseen spilt blood
To witness that lives have passed...
As war's planners, archetects and strategists
Collect the paperwork war has amassed...
They call it a day of victory..
A war fought well..
As soldiers who survive
Limp home to nightmares only memories can tell.....
Love and Peace to all Mikal

I did pre invasion reconnaissance in the Bay of Pigs, in the Spring of '61 (My tour of duty was from 7/'58 to 7/'62).
What I am trying to fathom is how resourceful you are with apparently unending stories and information.
Some people are describing your jolly good work as genius that nobody can deny...
(George Berkeley, 1710) ... lay the beginning in a distinct explication of what is meant by thing, reality, existence: for in vain shall we dispute concerning the real existence of things, or pretend to any knowledge thereof, so long as we have not fixed the meaning of those words.
