convergence on TOE quest

I would like to start this thread to talk about the general property known as convergence, and examples of how it may be occurring here on toequest.

Convergence, a well known phenomenon in biology, is where things from different backgrounds converge together based on a shared evolutionary path. One example of convergent evolution would be fish and dolphins, two species who are not very closely related and yet share the same basic body type. It is because of their shared evolutionary strategy. Another example would be the fact that flight has evolved independently three different times, in birds, bats, and insects. With convergent evolution, it seems there are more than one means to an end, however common that end may be.

We may wonder, does convergent evolution happen in the universe at large, and should all life share a convergent commonality? Does this strike at the heart of the essence of the theory of everything, where it is proposed all thought must converge?

It seems quite easy to imagine that if convergence happens on planet earth then convergence must happen in the universe at large, and convergence is a property of inherent progression and the devlopment of the theory of everything.

If we were to find another intelligent species in the universe would we be surprised to see that they share our same body type? Could it be, why it is allegorically written in the bible, of what image we were ostensibly created in?

It would seem that two eyes, four limbs, upright posture, five fingers, and all the other numerological properties of the human form would be convergent features that other intelligent lifeforms would have. It is the perfect form for us to have, to manipulate the world and investigate it. More details on this in a later post.

At the moment let us take a look at how great minds think alike, and how many of the different TOE's are starting to show some striking similarities, and that they all may be converging together, to a single theory. That is the one and only THEORY OF EVERYTHING!
