Becoming a compassionate human - a vegetarian - is a good first step to enlightenment and a sustainable way of LIFE.

Plants and vegetation also feel.
So it can get messy. It's all down to personal life-style and choice. Awareness is the key.

As one who has studied and worked with anmals most of my life, their intelligence and ability to work with and compensate for humans is nothing short of amazing.

Any thoughts on what we can do with all of the less fortunate species presently relegated to the food chain?

How do you propose that everyone should feed their pet cat or dog?

I am seriously looking for answers if we are to move forward in this debate.

How do you propose that everyone should feed their pet cat or dog?

Do cats and dogs actually need to eat meat?
Is this the only option available, is this what we have been educated to believe?
When we consider the sheer size and power of an elephant in comparison to a cat or a dog.
Cats and dogs are just like us, they are domesticated conditioned creatures.
Now, we have made them ''OUR'' accessories( pets )
It is now our responsibility to care for their welfare.
And some pets can live junk lifestyles just like some of us humans do.
Clarity comes from having a clear awareness, one free and unpolluted by all the lies that society would have us believe.
The point is not to get sucked into all the lies,not to buy the crap,
un-challenged belief systems flourish, and the rich are getting richer and they don't care about the masses.

And so, we know that elephants are herbivores.
That their diet consist of mainly grasses, supplemented with leaves, bamboo, twigs, bark, roots,
and small amounts of fruits, seeds and flowers.
So if they can survive why not cats and dogs?
Maybe i'm just missing something here who knows?
It seems obvious to me, there appears to be many hidden dimensions and realities existing within awareness.
Some understandings go much much deeper than we care to realize.

I am seriously looking for answers if we are to move forward in this debate.

Our Answers are already in the Questions or vice versa.
Truth is within.

Gee...we had a dog, a big lab, ate table scraps for 22 years and was as healthy as a small horse.
That might tell you a little about pampering house pets to fill the coffers of the big corporations...if you need to think deeper, then read some of the articles about prozac for your house pets. Those sulky big eyes we used to just love according to the system is just a "depressed mood in your dog."
Never heard such nonsense in all my life......next thing you know they will probably try to produce and sell...."prozac fish food" for your goldfish. They will probably try to convince you that this swimming in circles is a symptom of fish feeling confused and being lost.....

If you were a dog chained for life to a tree, would you be depressed, I would be.
And if you found yourself living in a fish bowl, would you be happy, how would you swim, how would you be?
Freedom's just another word, for equality.
What you think or need of freedom Mikal, equally All do.
But surely we Just think in different Ways, I've never been chained to a tree, and have never thought that Way. I can imagine it though, can't you?
